While the relationships among culture, SMCS (sustainability management control systems), innovation capabilities and corporate performance have been examined separately just one to one in prior studies, this is the first look at all of them in one unique model. A total of 102 valid responses were obtained from a sample of Korean manufacturing firms. Using a structural equation model, the results suggest that balanced culture is significantly associated with the use of SMCS for both feedback and feed-forward control. The analysis shows that different SMCS practices support different innovation capabilities, but SMCS package do not foster innovation capabilities, and that there are no differences in the impacts between explorative innovation and exploitive innovation. Also, the results show that SMCS for feedback has no direct effect on corporate performance, but has indirectly effect on corporate performance through its positive effect on exploitive innovation.

本研究では、サステナビリティ･マネジメント･コントロールの役割を明らかするため、組織文化, サステナビリティ･マネジメント･コントロール･システム(SMCS), イノベーション能力, 経営成果の間の関係に対する全容を体系的に分析する。アンケート調査をもとに実証分析した結果として、組織文化のバランスは、SMCSのフィードバック利用とフィードフォワード利用に正の影響を与えることに加えて、フィードバック･コントロールは活用的イノベーションと、フィードフォワード･コントロールは探索的イノベーションと正の関係にあることが確認された。しかし、SMCSパッケージは、活用的イノベーションおよび探索的イノベーションの両方に対して有意なインパクトを持っていない。また、活用的イノベーションと探索的イノベーション能力が経営成果に与える影響の差は、有意ではなかった。さらに、フィードバック･コントロールは、直接に経営成果に影響を与えることではなく、活用的イノベーションを媒介として経営成果の構築に影響を及ぼすことが確認された。
