Currently, South Korean universities have their focus in globalization, for the development of universities. There is significance to explore the Hyo students from abroad from such opportunities. One of the nations, Mongol is experiencing various changes of the overall society, including homes as it shifted from socialism to capitalism in the 1990s. Thus, the purpose of this study is to study the Hyo piety of female Mongolian students. For this research, 20 female Mongolian students studying in South Korean graduate schools were selected as study subjects, and in-depth interviews were conducted from September 2016 to December 2016, we conducted in-depth interviews. The results of research were as follows. The contents of the interview are the recognition of the family that the researchers classify, the direct support of the old parents, the economic support, the elderly parents (son and daughter division), regarding priority between husband’s family and one’s own family. First, in the recognition of the existence of the family, the researchers participants said cherished their families, and they regarded their family members as members. Second, in the case of the living directly with theirelderly parents, the researchers participants said that when their parents became older and more aged when they thought of the parents who gave birth and raised themselves, they naturally had to live together. Third, Economic poverty for old parents, the research participants said that although the siblings who have room to spare mainly support, the economic support for the old parents is all the same, and there is no distinction between the sons and daughters. Fourth, in showed tendencies toward one’s own family regarding priority between husband’s family and one’s own family, causing potential family dispute. Through this research, the family health and Hyo of female Mongolian students will be understood and serve as academic resources.

현재 우리나라의 대학들은 대학의 발전을 위해서 국제화에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이러한 기회에 국내에 온 유학생들을 통해서 그들의 효 의식을 탐색하는 것은 의미가 있다. 그 중 한 나라인 몽골은 1990년대에 사회주의 체제에서 자본주의 체제로 바뀌고 부터 가정을 비롯한 사회전반에 걸쳐 다양한 변화를 겪고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 몽골 젊은이들의 효 의식을 한국에 유학 중인 몽골 대학원생들을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 연구를 위해 한국 내 대학원에 재학 중인 몽골 여자 유학생 20명을 연구 대상자로 선정하여 2016년 9월 6일 부터 2016년 12월 12일 까지 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 인터뷰 내용은 연구자가 분류한 가족의 존재 인식, 노부모 직접동거 모심, 경제적 지원, 노부모 모심(아들, 딸 구분), 시가(媤家)와 친가(親家) 우선순위이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족의 존재 인식에서 연구 참여자들은 자신의 가정을 소중하게 생각하고 있었으며, 가정의 구성원인 가족들을 하나같이 귀하게 여겼다. 둘째 노부모 직접동거 모심에서 연구 참여자들은 자신을 낳고 길러주신 부모를 생각할 때 부모가 연로하여 노약 해졌을 때 당연히 자신들이 직접동거하며 모셔야 한다고 생각하고 있었다. 셋째, 노부모에 대한 경제적 지원에서 연구 참여자들은 여유가 있는 형제들이 주로 부양을 하지만 노부모에 대한 경제적인 지원은 모두 뜻을 같이 하고 있으며 아들, 딸 구별이 없다고 하였다. 넷째, 시가(媤家)와 친가(親家) 우선순위에서 연구 참여자들은 한명을 제외하고 모두 친가를 우선순위에 두었다. 친가 우선은 가정갈등의 원인이 될 수 있다. 이와 같은 연구결과로 몽골 여자 유학생들의 효 의식을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 몽골 여자 유학생들의 효 의식을 이해하고 학문적 자료를 제공하는데 도움이 되길 바란다.
