Bul-i-seong-beob-lyun-sa(Non dual castle Truth wheel Temple) is a modern temple in a city built in the early 20th century. This paper considers biographies of Daeryun Seyeong, or Beobun Daeryun (1884-1979), a buddhist monk of modern Korea, who has built Bul-i-seong-beob-lyun-sa and has restored Taego Order Korean Buddhism, and then argues on his achievement in modern period of Korean Buddhism, especially on the meaning of Bul-i-seong-beob-lyun-sa in the point of a modern propagation of Buddhism. According to this study, there are some inexact and wrong facts in his biographies, although he was a important monk in modern history of Korean buddhism. For example, his buddhist name, birth year, and several facts in his a period of the propagation activity of Buddhism(1910-20) are not exact. And we can know the claim that Sunday Buddhist Truth Meeting and a modern buddhist woman organization was held for the first time in Bul-i-seong-beob-lyun-sa is wrong The attractive point of Bul-i-seong-beob-lyun-sa in the point of a modern propagation of Buddhism is that we can find strong wishes and leadership of a founder of a modern temple in a city which is one of features of temples in the city developed after the 1970s in Daeryun Seyeong who was the builder of Bul-i-seong-beob-lyun-sa

불이성 법륜사는 20세기 초반에 세워진 한국불교의 근대적 도심포교당의 하나이다. 본 연구는 불이성 법륜사를 창건하고 한국불교 태고종을 중흥한 대륜세영(1884∼1979) 대종사의 전기를 고찰하여 그의 행화를 기술하고, 그가 창건한 불이성 법륜사의 현대 포교적 의의를 고찰하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 대륜세영은 현대불교에 큰 족적을 남겼음에도 그의 전기에는 불분명하거나 잘못된 점이 많았다. 예를 들어 법호와 법명, 정확한 생년, 도심포교 당시(1910-20년대)에 활동한 내용들이 정확하지 못한 점들이 있었다. 또 불이성 법륜사가 일요법회와 현대적 불교여성단체를 최초로 실시하고 설립했다는 주장은 사실이 아님을 알 수 있었다. 불이성 법륜사가 현대포교적 관점에서 관심을 끄는 것은 1970년대 이후 성장한 도심포교당의 특징 중 하나인 포교당 설립자 개인의 원력과 카리스마를 불이성 법륜사의 창건자인 대륜세영에서 찾을 수 있다는 점이다.
