This is a study on the role and status of the Cultural Center for Korea-China Interchange in the ethnic Korean-Chinese society of Shenyang Xita. More concretely, we study topics such as: in what circumstances this Cultural Center appeared, what attitude the Center showed toward the ethnic Korean-Chinese society, what role the Center played in the ethnic Korean-Chinese society of Shenyang Xita, and what works the Center did. For this purpose, we closely examine the works of the Cultural Center for Korea-China Interchange since the Center was open in 2014. The present study is divided into five parts. In the introduction we review the existing literature, point out the novelty of our research, and present the research method and scope of this paper. In chapter 2 we look into the educational works of the Cultural Center for Korea-China Interchange. In chapter 3 we examine the cultural works of this Cultural Center. In chapter 4 we take a look at the Center’s social works. In conclusion we point out some of the topics that have not been covered in this paper and thus need to be studied in the future.

본 논문은 심양 조선족 사회에서 한중교류문화원의 역할과 위상을 연구하고 있다. 다 시 말해 중국 동북3성 중의 하나인 요녕성의 심양 서탑지역에서 2014년에 문을 연 한중 교류문화원의 교육사업, 문화사업, 사회사업을 살펴보고 이를 통해 문화원이 조선족 사 회에서 담당하고 있는 역할과 위상을 알아본다. 이 연구를 위해 본 논문에서는 문화원의 여러 사업들에 관한 사진자료와 보도 자료를 이용하고 있다. 본 논문은 5장으로 되어 있다. 머리말에서는 기존문헌을 검토하고 본 논문이 지니고 있는 새로운 측면이 무엇인지를 살펴본 다음 본 논문의 연구 방법과 연구 범위를 제시 한다. 2장에서는 한중교류문화원의 교육사업에 대해서 고찰한다. 3장에서는 한중교류문 화원의 문화사업을 알아본다. 4장에서는 한중교류문화원의 사회사업을 살펴본다. 맺음말 에서는 본 논문에서 다루지 못한 주제들과 앞으로 연구되어야 할 주제가 무엇인지 살펴 본다.
