This research examines whether the repairing editions printed in Kangyung-dogam is the re-engraving edition or the reprinting edition through analyzing preceding studies and physical data. In conclusion it was discovered that the repairing editions are reprinting edition, not the re-engraving edition of the original. This view was raised by Japanese scholar during Japanese occupation. And later, Dr. Cho Myung Gi explained the fact that the repairing editions are replaced woodcut of original by supplement some characters or whole woodblock. Currently, however, this view was unaccepted by Dr. Chon Hye Bong. After a completely different basic theory on re-engraving edition was proposed it has become widely held in the academic world of a bibliography, leading to misunderstanding.

이 연구는 간경도감 중수본이 후인본인가 아니면 번각본인가를 관련 연구와 실물자료를 분석해서 그 사실을 밝힌 것이다. 결론적으로 중수본은 원간본의 번각이 아닌 후인본이라는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 이러한 견해는 일제 강점기에 일본인 학자에 의해 제기된 바 있으며, 이후 조명기 선생에 의해 보각 또는 보판 중수한 사실이 자세하게 설명되었다. 그러나 현재 이 견해는 천혜봉에 의해 수용되지 않고 전혀 다른 번각본설이 제시된 이후 서지학계에 정설처럼 자리하게 되어 오해를 낳고 있다.
