- The importance of makeup is being raised as it serves to directly reveal the character of the character due to the development of stage performances. Makeup alone provides information on the plays and characters, and is now recognized for its versatility and artistry. Thus, Femael Kukkuk(the features of female theater), Chinese opera, and kabuki, one of the most popular traditional plays in Korea, China, and Japan, were selected and compared and analyzed. As a result, I could see that each of the characteristics of makeup, material, and design element were different. These results confirmed the possibility that the analysis of makeup techniques from each country could have a positive effect on the development of different stage makeup.
