his study examined the level of perceived fear of crime by the residents' gentrification in terms of cultural crime. For this purpose, we conducted an interview survey to identify the fear of crime in the residents of the Gentrificaton. As a result, the level of perceived fear of potential crime such as public order deterioration and business interruption was higher than the satisfaction of economic benefit obtained by gentrification. The vigilance of outsiders has played a significant role in increasing the awareness of crime fear. In the case of residents, the boundaries between commercial and residential areas were thin, and they felt that the invasion of outsiders was commonplace. Especially, theft and the passenger felt the fear of crime more seriously. As the gentrification process progressed, the informal control mechanism of the community became weaker, which was seen as a factor that increased the fear of crime. It is the fact that the perception of the necessity of active intervention in local residents' report or problem situation is poor. The results of this study are expected to be a basis for understanding the cultural characteristics of the gentrification area and establishing a direction for local criminal policy based on the active intervention of the residents to prevent crime.

이 연구는 문화 범죄론의 관점에서 지역주민들의 젠트리피케이션으로 인한 범죄 두려움 인식 수준을 조사했다. 이를 위해 젠트리피케이션에 따른 지역주민을 대상으로 범죄 두려움을 파악하고자 인터뷰 조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과 젠트리피케이션으로 얻는 경제적 이득의 만족감보다 공중질서 악화, 영업 방해와 같은 잠재적 범죄 두려움 대한 인식 수준이 컸다. 외부인들에 대한 경계심이 범죄 두려움 인식을 증가시키는데에 크게 작용했다. 거주민의 경우, 상업과 주거지역의 경계가 희박해져 외부인들의 침입이 일상화되었다고 느끼고 있었다. 특히 절도, 취객으로 인해 범죄 두려움 인식을 더욱 심각하게 느끼고 있었다. 젠트리피케이션이 진행됨에 따라 지역사회의 비공식 통제 기제가 약화 되어 가는데, 이 점이 범죄 두려움을 가중시키는 요인으로 관찰되었다. 지역 주민 간 신고나 문제 상황에 대한 적극적 개입에 대한 필요성 인식이 빈약하다는 사실을 말한다. 이러한 연구 결과는 젠트리피케이션화 되는 지역의 문화 특성을 이해하고, 범죄예방을 위해 주민의 적극적 개입에 기반한 지역 형사정책 대응 방향을 수립하는 데 기초가 될 수 있을 것이라 기대된다.
