We will meet in the fourth revolution due to rapid renovation of technology and development of Artificial Intelligence. The purpose of this study was to predict the changed of higher education and societies due to the fourth industrial revolution, and to discuss the role of character education in the confronting revolution. First of all, this paper examines various changes due to the fourth revolution and new type of talent. And we are looking for the reason of the necessity about Character education in Universities. Also, this study covers the necessity of the Moral Character Education in university, which is mostly executed in the Elementary, Middle, and High School so far. In addition, this study on current Character Education in university differentiates curriculum from extra-curriculum program. Through this, this study deals with the current practices and conditions of university Character Education and compensates the defects for the new paradigm of university Character Education to prepare for The Fourth Industrial Revolution Era.

현재 인류는 지금까지 아무도 미리 내다보지 못할 정도의 빠른 기술혁신과 인공지능의 발달에 따른 이른바 4차 산업혁명시대를 앞두고 있다. 본 연구는 오늘날 4차 산업혁명으로 인해 나타날 미래사회의 변화 및 그에 따른 대학교육의 변화를 예측하고 인성교육의 새로운 방향을 모색한다. 먼저 4차 산업혁명에 의해 일어날 여러 변화와 이에 따라 변화할 4차 산업혁명시대의 새로운 인재상에 대해 살펴본다. 또한 지금까지 초중등교육에서 주로 실시되어온 인성교육이 대학에서도 실시되어야 하는지 그 필요성에 대해 알아보고 현재 대학에서 실시하고 있는 인성교육을 교과·비교과교육으로 구분하여 살펴본다. 이를 통해 본 논문에서는 현재 대학 인성교육의 현황에 대해 알아보고 문제점을 보완하여 4차 산업혁명시대를 대비하기 위한 새로운 대학 인성교육의 방향을 제시하고자 한다.
