Tian Baochen worte “Xiao Xue Pian Zhi” which is consist of eight volumes in Qing Dynasty. Based on Pian Ya Xun Zuan, Tian Baochen had done further research and given a large number of supplement on its phonetic, paraphrase and documentary evidence. Meanwhile, Tian Baochen put forward his “Zhuan yu”theory by means of analysing the relationship of “alliteration and assonance”among the words. “Xiao Xue Pian Zhi”is of great significance in the history of “Pianzi”. However, this book is weak at phonology theory.

청인 전보신(田寶臣)이 저술한 《소학변지(小學駢支)》는 총 8권으로서 위무림(魏茂林)의 《변아훈찬(駢雅訓籑)》의 기초에서 《변아(駢雅)》의 일부 조목에 대하여 진일보 연구하였으며 주음(注音), 석의(釋義), 서증(書證) 등 면에서 보완하고 수정하였다. 또한 변자(駢字) 사이의 쌍성첩운(雙聲疊韻) 관계에 대한 분석을 통하여 나름의 “전어(轉語)”이론을 제기하였다. 이 책은 변자 연구사에서 매우 중요한 가치가 있는 한편 음리(音理) 면에서는 일정한 누락이 있다.

清人田寶臣所著《小學駢支》共八卷，在魏茂林《駢雅訓籑》的基礎上，對《駢雅》的部分條目作進一步研究，在注音、釋義、書證等方面有所補正。同時，通過分析駢字間的雙聲疊韻關係提出了自己的“轉語”理論。該書在駢字研究史上有重要價值，在音理方面有一定疏漏。
