- This study will examine how the Chinese nationalist party took over Manchurian National Agricultural Testing Site and utilized its engineers in 1945 after the defeat of Japan in World War II. Primarily using materials of Ministry of Agriculture preserved by Taiwan National Central Research Institute, this research will investigate how Japanese engineers were treated and how the agricultural research resumed. Specifically, it will analyze rice breeding, the presenter’s research main area. The civil war occurred, and after Chinese Nationalist party took over the damaged testing site, the research was in the process. It will also discuss research on GongZhuLing(公主嶺) Agricultural testing site in 1948 when the Communist Party took it over.
