Japanese political leaders have made blunders against Korean people and government since as early as 1950s. While Japanese blunder agitated the public sentiment of Korea, there was few academic analysis concerning the politics of Japanese blunders against Korea. Therefore, this research design will examine the relationship between Japanese foreign policy toward South Korea and Japanese domestic politics. This research paper theorizes the conflict blunder of Japan with rational actor theory. In order to test the theory, this paper employs "10 Million International Dyadic Events" data by Gary King, which allows me to measure the cooperation and conflict between Korea and Japan. The data analysis provides a general picture of Korea-Japan relationship. After descriptive analyses, I use the time-series method to analyze the relationship between Japanese blunder against Korea and its domestic politics. The statistical outcomes informs that there is a certain correlation between Japanese blunder and its domestic politics. The results of statistical analyses are limited to make a robust argument. However, this research paper contributes to develop an empirical analysis regarding the Korea-Japan relationship. Based on the results, I conclude that there is a correlation between foreign policy and domestic politics in a given country as a general theory of international relations.
