The military is the country 's youth, the officer is the period of such an army, and it is the key to the creation of combat power. Therefore, selecting and training talented officers is the foundation of the strong military. However, our military had difficulty in establishing a leading officer training system from the Sanggun process by our military. It also achieved rapid quantitative expansion through the Korean War in the early days, but it took a lot of time to establish a solid organizational system. Currently, the basis of the army officer training system is mostly established in the 1970s during the Korean War, but it is thought that the current military structure needs to be reduced and the time required to complement and improve the current training system in order to become a technology-intensive advanced army Therefore, this paper analyzes the current army officer training system and suggests the development direction.The purpose of this study was to examine the transition process of the army officer training system and to develop the army officer training system by analyzing the problems of the current army training system and the training system of the other countries.As a result, the direction of development of the army officer training system is as follows: ① Reduction of the number of junior officers, increase of the proportion of mid-term employees, ② Simplification of training courses and educational institutions, and ③ Complementing the management system of mid-term service officers. It is necessary to overcome the problem of 'mass acquisition - short term utilization - mass outflow' based on this development direction and develop into a more effective and efficient futuristic officer training system.

군은 국가의 간성이고 장교는 이러한 군대의 기간이며, 전투력 창출에 핵심이다. 따라서 능력있는 장교를 선발하고 양성하는 것은 강군의 기틀이다. 그러나 우리 군은 창군과정에서 부터 우리 군 주도의 장교양성체계를 갖추는데 많은 어려움이 있었다. 또한 창군 초기에 6.25전쟁을 통해서 급속한 양적 팽창을 이루었으나, 내실 있는 조직체계를 이루는 데는 많 은 시간이 필요로 했다. 현재 육군장교양성체계의 근간은 1970년 군의 확장기에 대부분 정립되었으나, 현재 병력 구조가 감소화되고, 기술집약형 선진군대로 발돋움하기 위해서는 지금이 현재 양성체계의 문제점을 보완하고 정비해야 할 시점이라 생각된다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 현재의 육군장교양성체계를 분석하고 발전방향을 제시하고자 하 였다. 이를 위해 육군장교양성체계의 변천과정을 알아보고, 現육군양성체계의 문제점과 타 국의 양성체계의 분석을 통해 육군장교 양성체계 발전방향을 도출하여 보았다. 이에 따른 육군장교 양성체계의 발전방향으로는 ① 임관인원의 축소와 중기복무자의 비중확대, ② 양 성과정 및 교육기관의 단순화, ③ 중기복무장교 관리제도의 보완을 들 수 있다. 이러한 발전방향을 기틀로 대량획득-단기활용-대량유출 이라는 문제점을 극복하고 보다 효과적이고 효율적인 미래지향적인 장교양성체계로 발전해 나가야 할 것이다.
