少子化社会における日本と韓国の国民意識 ‒ 内閣府「少子化社会に関する国際意識調査」を中心に ‒
National consciousness of Japan and South Korea in a society with fewer children - International attitude survey about the Cabinet Office low birthrate society -
We have studied the similarity & difference of awareness related to declining birthrate between Republic of Korea & Japan. Basically, 80 % of people in both countries answered that they do want to get married. 40 % of unmarried persons take a positive view of marriage as well as they are willing to get married if they find suitable partner. Meanwhile, we have no choice but to say the cause of declining birthrate will be a serious situation in both countries as a result of the following research. They answered the reason of single – a quarter of unmarried men in both countries, one-third of women in Republic of Korea – it is not necessary to get married. It shows as a tendency that women are negative to the marriage than men in Republic of Korea, but in Japan the situation is opposite. On both of married and unmarried, the number of children to desire is less in Republic of Korea than in Japan. Additionally, the proportion they don’t want or cannot afford to increase the number of children in the future is around 50 % in both countries. As a result, a reason not to increase the number of children is similar in both countries. It is due to high cost such as private education expenditure, childcare expenditure and expense of teaching material. Also it became clear that I’m conscious of gender division support fixedly hard for men and women in Japan from this investigation. Gender division support consciousness is going down Korea more than Japan compared with that, and it can be said that a change is fast.
