It is commonly acknowledged that a continuous understanding of sae in a normal sentence and a conditional sentence is impossible. But, since both have the same form, there must be a possibility that there is a way we can find a continuity. It is too soon to give up all trials to find any continuity and to regard the sae of conditional sentence as a very different one from normal sentence. In this paper, with the result which has already been acquired somehow in LEE(2004), there will be a trial to do more compound understanding about the polysemy of sae in a view of continuity among word's meanings and to explore the distinctive feature of sae conditional sentence more profoundly. And all of these trials are going to provide a chance to contemplate on what is sae's real basic meaning and function and how the basic meaning and function links its polysemy. Also, this basic meaning and fucntion of sae which will be acquired in this paper links between sae in a normal sentence and sae in a conditional sentence.
