This thesis approached Korean-Japanese literature in modern and post-modern perspectives and post-modern imaginations in Korean-Japanese literature were studied in historical, political and cultural perspectives. First, the modern perspectives of Koran-Japanese literature were studied based on the diaspora, related to historical and ideological relationships of individuals-groups-nations that have been represented by nations and people under the modernism/post-modernism influences, politics and ideology, and development of cultural imperialism. In this study, the post-modern perspectives of Korean-Japanese literature suggested that it has not developed based on imperialism and modern nation-state's ideology, but has developed in multilateral ways. Especially, post-modern imagination was focused on post-colonialism acculturation (walk-on-the-wire kind of spirit of Bum-suk Kim, sorrow and joy from freedom, and social recognition of women in ‘Row the boat on the ground’), realism and identity of ‘living in Japan’ (criticism on confusional patriarchy in ‘Red fruit’ by Chang-seng Kim, relative imagery of usual places in Su-il Won's novels), imagination of diaspora based on extended meaning (‘internal others’ under hybrids in literature by Hwe-sung Lee, Gisa Sa, and Megumu), and open minded view of the world and post-nationalised communism (communism of Kim-ho Kim's books, historical books, historical novels by Jung-myung Kim, kids books by Shizca)Therefore, when Korean-Japanese literature's modern writings have represented imperialism, modern nationalism based on pure-blood and constraints in homogeneous myths, we can say that post-modern writing have focused on open-minded view of the world and it has linked to multilateral and realistic self, identity of ‘living in Japan’, and horizontal spirits and generality. Futhermore, Korean-Japanese literature's post-modern imagination is providing various information to Korean society where we can see a big change to multilateral society.
