- The cinematization of literature called “literary film” emerged manifested itself in the Korean film industry during the 1960s and Kim Sooyong became a central figure as a literary film director. The director adapted play「Sanbul」by Cha Beom-seok into films in 1967 and 1977, respectively. Director Kim Gi-chung produced it into film in 1989, thus this original play was adapted into three different film versions. Play 「Sanbul」enables readers to have critical insights on ideology and shows human primordial love and strong affection with life in the background of the extremely terrifying war. Film reduces figures compared to the original work and narrates triangular relationships. In addition, it primarily focuses on the expression of human desire and emotion rather than dialogues, thereby maximizing visual images. Moreover, rigid situation under the supervision makes the conclusion different from the orignal work. Film submits to national predominant ideology under the guise of popular code. Play and film shares a common point that they contains “narrativity” in terms of genre, yet there is a significant difference in external factors and generic language. Although film accepts characters, the situations of war and division, and dialogues from the original work, it adapted the first work into a new one with the essence of traditional eroticism by creating variations in plots that centers on human desire.

- 1960년대 후반의 한국영화계는 ‘문예영화’라고 불리는 문학작품의 영화화 현상이 뚜렷하게 나타났고, 문예영화 감독으로 김수용이 두각을 나타냈다. 차범석의 희곡 「산불」은 김수용 감독이 1967년, 1977년에 영화화하고, 1989년 김기충 감독까지 영화로 만들며 한 편의 희곡이 세 편의 영화로 만들어졌다. 희곡 「산불」은 이데올로기 자체의 비판적 시각을 갖게 함과 동시에 전쟁이라는 극한적 상황에서 발견한 인간의 원색적 사랑과 삶에 대한 애착을 보여준다. 영화는 원전보다 인물을 축소시키면서 삼각관계에 주목한서사를 보여준다. 또, 인물들의 대사보다는 인간의 욕망과 감정 표현에 집중하여 시각적 이미지를 극대화하고 있다. 게다가 검열로부터 자유롭지 않았던 당시 상황도 영화의 결말을 원작과 다르게 만드는데 일조한다. 영화는대중적 코드의 외피를 입고 국가의 지배 이데올로기에 순응하고 있다. 희곡과 영화는 ‘서사성’을 내포한다는 장르적 공통점이 있지만 작품 외부적인요인과 장르적 언어에서 차이점이 있다. 영화는 희곡의 등장인물, 전쟁과 분단이라는 상황, 대사를 비교적 그대로 차용하지만 인간의 욕망에 집중하는플롯으로 변화를 줌으로써 전쟁영화를 통한 토속적 에로티시즘의 정수를보여준 작품으로 각색되었다.

- 한국문예창작학회(The Society of Korean Literary Creative Writing)는 한국 문학의 새 지평을 열기 위해 문예창작 이론과 문예교육 이론을 연구 계발하여 문 예창작의 새로운 방향을 제시하고자 조직한 학술단체입니다. 전국 대학과 대학원 문예창작 관련학과의 전·현직 전임교수·겸임(초빙)교수· 강 사·대학원 재학 이상자 및 문예창작인들이 회원으로 활동하고 있습니다. 학회의 목적에 적극적으로 동의하는 문학 관련 단체나 문학창작 동호인도 준회원으로 참 여하고 있습니다. 연 2회 학회지를 발간해 학문적 기반을 닦고 있으며, 정기적으로 학술 세미나 와 해외 문학 심포지엄 등 학술 발표회를 개최하여 학문적 교류와 토론의 장을 넓히고 있습니다. 한편으로, 문예창작 캠프·문학기행 등의 창작교육 활동과 창작 학습 행사를 수 시로 진행하면서, 창작·창작이론·창작교육에 관한 활동의 범위를 넓히고 있습니다. 별도로, 문예창작 교육을 받은 문예창작학도들의 진로 개발을 위해 '문예교육지도 교사 자격 시험'도 운영하고 있습니다. The Society of Korean Literary Creative Writing is a pure academic association for the literary cretive writing, and was organized on November 11, 2001 for the purpose of presenting the new direction of literary creative writing by studying all the methods to activate and develop the theories of literary creative writing and its education. Our society is composed of professors or ex-professors, some invited professor, lecturers, graduate students of the dept. of literary creative writing as regular members, and the persons interested in our program as associative members. Our society holds an annual academic meeting-- literary symposium, literary creative writing seminar-- and publishes the journal of our society and our members' anthology of literary works. Added to these, our society has already started a new project to open the way for our literary juniors by providing them with a certificate as a leader and holding a forum for literary creative writing.
