The purpose of this study is to find out the similarities of the transition process between ‘Kimjang culture’ and ‘Filial Piety(Hyo)’ and explore the value of Kimjang culture and filial piety(hyo) based on the academic theories, seeking the ways of enhancing ‘Social Filial Piety(Hyo)’ meaning combining Kimjang culture with filial piety(hyo). Kimjang culture and filial piety(hyo) can be found in the value of harmony of exchange that parents give life and love to their children and that children get an upbringing and endless love from their parents and of the happy community by sharing physical and mental things with community. Especially, the family type in Korea has been changed rapidly. The increase of single-person households means there is a need for a community which is centered on local community, creative and various kinds. For an example, if the community service center in Eup, Myeon, and Dong across the country can contribute to the formation of community satisfying desire of beneficiary of welfare, social welfare function will be reinforced effectively. This study explores the value of inheriting Kimjang culture and filial piety(hyo) through Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and examines the value of Kimgjang culture and filial piety(hyo) from a social welfare point of view. For the enhancement of filial piety(hyo), a family filial piety(hyo) should extend to ‘social filial piety(hyo)’. Kimjang sharing event for the beneficiary of welfare is the practice of social filial piety(hyo). For a way to enhance filial piety(hyo) in Kimjang culture, this study suggests the participation of beneficiary of welfare and Kimjang sharing event applying filial piety(hyo) education.

본 연구는 우리나라의 ‘김장문화’와 ‘효’의 변천과정이 유사함을 발견하여 학문적 이 론을 바탕으로 김장문화와 효의 가치를 탐색하고 김장문화에 효 교육을 접목한 ‘사회적 효’를 통해 효의 증진 방안을 모색하는 것에 목적이 있다. 김장문화와 효는 부모가 자녀 에게 생명과 사랑을 주고, 자녀는 부모에게 양육과 끊임없는 사랑을 받고 감사해하는 주 고받음의 조화가 있으며 공동체를 통한 나눔으로 행복 공동체의 가치를 발견할 수 있다. 특히 우리나라의 가족형태는 빠르게 변화하고 있는데 1인 가구의 증가는 지역사회 중 심의 공동체 조성 등이 필요하다는 인식으로 창의적이고 다양한 공동체를 요구하고 있 다. 한 예로 전국의 읍면동 주민센터에서 복지대상자의 욕구에 맞춘 공동체 생성에 기여 할 수 있다면 사회복지 기능이 훨씬 효율적으로 강화될 수 있을 것이다. 김장문화와 효 의 계승 가치를 Maslow의 욕구위계설을 통해 탐구해 보았으며 사회복지 현장의 관점에 서 김장문화와 효의 가치를 살펴보려 노력했다. 효의 증진을 위해서는 가정적 효에서 사 회의 돌봄이 필요한 ‘사회적 효’로 확대되어야 한다. 저소득층 등 복지대상자를 위한 김 장 나눔 행사는 사회적 효의 실천이라고 할 수 있다. 김장문화에서 효 증진의 방안으로 복지대상자의 참여와 효 교육을 접목한 김장 나눔 행사를 제시하고자 한다.
