The purpose of this research is to investigate relationship between practical reformation ideology from 『Your Silence』 poetical work of Han young un and Donghak ideology. First, by focusing on poetical work of 『Your Silence』, I will examine the relationship between the will of practical reform for modernization and the idea of practical reform of Donghak that was active in the contemporary period. As a method for this study, first, we will discuss Donghak’s 'Gak-ji-bul-ei' ideology with will of reformation for freedom and subjectivity. Second, we will discuss the practice the will to overcome the tragic reality with the concept of 'Tenchi–seok'. Third, We discuss the circularity and paradoxical writing toward identification in relation to the idea of 'Bull-yeon-gi-yeon'. The contents of this study is, first, The practical reform will for modernization and the 'Gak-ji-bul-ei' is to adjust national subjectivity and emphasize subjectivity for sincere freedom. Second, practical will is necessary to transcend reality and realizing practical situation is necessary in order to overcome racial tragic reality. Also, the will of heaven, thus generosity makes to realize reality and it is new world which can realize embraced life’s limitation. Third, In order to equalize the identity of 'you' and 'I', we can overcome the separate phenomenon of extinction and realize that the origin of things, as the paradox of circulation and 'Bull-yeon-gi-yeon'. The result of study shows, First, to have sincere freedom and subjectivity as a sincere practical reformation will'Gak-ji-bul-ei'. This is demanded by modern period. Second,Practical will to overcome the tragic reality can go beyond the negative realities of will of heaven, thus generosity. Third,paradoxical writing in order to recover circulation and identification can verify 'you' and 'I' are identical thing. So, practical reformation ideology from 『Your Silence』is correlate with Donghak’s practical reformation ideology. paradoxial expression is appropriate writing method to understand identification and to recover.

이 연구의 목적은 만해 한용운의 시집 『님의 침묵』에 나타난 실천적 개혁사상을 동학사상과 연관해 규명하는 것이다. 먼저 시집 『님의 침묵』의 시편들을 중심으로 만해의 근대화에 대한 실천적 개혁 의지와 동시대적으로 활동했던 동학의 실천적 개혁사상의 연관성을 살펴볼 것이다. 이에 대한 연구 방법으로는 첫째, 자유와 주체성을 위한 개혁 의지를 동학의 ‘각지불이’ 사상으로 논의하고, 둘째, 비극적 현실 극복을 위한 실천 의지를 동학의 ‘천심즉인심’이라는 사상과 연관해 논의한다. 셋째, 동일화를 향한 역설적 글쓰기의 방식은 ‘불연기연’ 사상과 연관해 논의한다. 이 연구의 내용은 첫째, 근대화를 위한 실천적 개혁의지와 동학의 ‘각지불이’는 민족의 주체적 중심을 바로 잡기 위한 것으로 진정한 자유를 위한 것이다. 둘째, 민족이 처한 비극적 현실을 극복하기 위해서는 실존적 상황을 자각하고, 현실을 뛰어넘을 수 있는 실천적 의지가 필요하다. 이러한 의지는 현실을 깨닫고, 수용하는 삶의 한계에서 깨달을 수 있는 ‘천심즉인심’의 새로운 세계를 향한 것이다. 셋째, ‘님’과 ‘나’의 동일화를 회복하기 위해서는 소멸에 대한 분리된 현상을 극복해야 한다. 이는 ‘불연기연’의 역설로써 사물의 근원이 하나의 이치로 이루어져 있음을 깨닫는 것이다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 시대가 요구하는 진정한 실천적 개혁 의지는 ‘각지불이’로써 진정한 자유와 주체성을 가지는 것이다. 둘째, 비극적 현실 극복을 위한 실천 의지는 부정적 현실을 뛰어넘어 ‘천심즉인심’의 새로운 경지로 나아가는 것이다. 셋째, 순환성과 동일화 회복을 위한 역설적 글쓰기는‘불연기연’의 역설의 표현으로써 ‘님’과 ‘나’가 동일화된 존재임을 확인하는 것이다. 따라서 『님의 침묵』에 나타난 실천적 개혁사상은 동학의 실천적 개혁사상과 맥을 같이하고 있었다. 역설적 표현은 세계의 동일화를 이해하고 회복하는데 적절한 글쓰기 방식이었다.
