- This study analyzes the collaboration patterns of subcontracting companies in the shipbuilding industry to explore structural characteristics of the collaboration network and identify important organizations such as the hub and the broker. Using the research method of social network analysis, we figure out the network indices of centrality and structural hole to explain the structural characteristics of the 4 types networks and find out the existence of the hub organizations and the broker organizations. This exploratory study remains many future research topics. For example, we have to find out the relationships of network effectiveness and structural characteristics of the network.
