WTO(World Trade Organization) member nations concluded WTO/TBT(Technical Barriers to Trade) agreement that removes all barrier elements in trade that block free transferring of products and service by adopting and applying different standards, technology, regulation, certification, and inspection procedures between trade partners. The recent characteristics of technology barriers are that the environmental regulations and energy efficiency regulations of the developed countries around European Union have been reinforced. It is necessary at this point to prepare for alternatives and to conduct researches to cope with technical regulations increased by preoccupying global standards. Conformity assessment procedures can bring benefits to producers, customers, and government control agency by improving quality and productivity for industry. This research was performed to analyze Korea's conformity assessment activities and international trends in connection with product test, inspection, and certification procedures and to recognize the importance of technology regulation through notification report trend analysis based on WTO/TBT agreement. Standard policy and technology regulation countermeasure are considered to improve quality and productivity and cost reduction in industry dimension.

최근 선진국의 기술패권이 더욱 강화되면서 국가경쟁력의 원천인 기술개발 역량과 함께 자국의 기술을 국제표준으로 채택하도록 치열한 기술표준화전략 경쟁을 전개하고 있다. 그 방안의 하나로 연구.기술개발 초기단계부터 관련 분야의 기술표준(technology and standards)을 핵심요소 가운데 포함시켜 생산성제고를 통해 경쟁력을 강화하기 위함이다.
