The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among high performance work systems(HPWS), human capital and organizational performance. To test hypotheses, Human Capital Corporate Panel Survey(HCCP, 2005) data collected by the Korean Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET) and KISLINE data(2007) from the Korea Information Services (KIS) were used. The sample of this study consists of 300 manufacturing firms in Korea. Data were analyzed using OLS(Ordinary Least Squares) regression technique. Results showed that HPWS has a positive impact on Human Capital and organizational performance(sales per employee). And Human Capital has a positive impact on organizational performance. We also found Human Capital partially mediated the relationship between HPWS and organizational performance. Finally, we discussed theoretical and practical implications of this study, limitationsquaresdirections for future study.
