This paper considered the history that was presented to the public in Japanese society in the 1970s and analyzes how it is remembered. The novel『Proof of the Man (Ningen no Shōmei)』(1975, Seiichi Morimura) reproduces the occupation history (1945-1952) and represents post-war Japan. This novel also re-discusses the postwar perception formed after the occupation period. In this novel, the murderer (the mother) kills a mixed blood child to protect the Japanese family. This mother's choice tragically reproduces the situation in which she had to live during the history of oppression. Also, the two detectives in Japan and New York who investigate the case have a history connected with the occupation. Furthermore, the history of the hidden past is highlighted by highlighting the unhappy personal history of the two detectives who were both victims and perpetrators. It is historical as the story of origin. It is important that popular novels in the 1970s reproduced the postwar history such as the time of the occupation. The reason for this is related to the postwar recognition of Japanese society at present. As in this novel, a crime that excludes the negative elements of postwar Japan's "secret of birth" after completing a period of high growth also affects the war responsibilities and historical perceptions. The public will have a closed perception of postwar Japan.

이 글은 1970년대 일본사회에서 호출되는 역사는 무엇이고 또 어떠한 사회상으로 기억되고 있는지에 주목하였다. 그리고 점령기를 재현하고 있는 모리무라 세이치의 소설 『인간의 증명』에 나타난 고착화되고 있는 ‘전후표상’을 통해 재담론화되고 있는 ‘전후인식’의 변주를 살펴보았다. 이 소설은 일본인 가족을 지키기 위해 흑인혼혈아 아들을 살해할 수밖에 없던 어머니의 선택이라는 도식 속에 ‘신파로서의 점령기 기억’을 완성하고 있다. 또한 사건을 파헤치는 일본과 뉴욕의 두 형사가 간직한 점령군과 관련된—피해자였고 가해자였던- 불행한 개인사를 전경화하여 봉인된 과거의 기억을 ‘기원의 이야기로서 역사화’하고 있다. 1970년대 대중소설이 점령기와 같은 전후사를 소급해 올라가 과거를 전경화하고 있음은 현대 일본사회의 ‘전후인식’과 관련해 중요한 현상이다. 이 소설에서처럼 고도성장을 완료한 전후일본의 이른바 ‘출생의 비밀’에 얽힌 부정적 요소를 배제하는 범행은 전쟁책임관이나 역사인식과 연동되어 폐쇄적인 ‘전후인식’의 고착화를 보여주기 때문이다.
