This study empirically verified the hypotheses that specialized vocational high school students’ school adjustments are affected by rearing attitude of parents, and self-esteem and academic achievement mediate the relations between the variables. This study analyzed the data of Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) of National Youth Policy Institute with SPSS regression analysis and Indirect macro to analysis the relations. The results of the analysis are as follow: Firstly, the school adjustments of specialized vocational high school students were positively affected by parental interest. Secondly, the school adjustments of specialized vocational high school students were negatively affected by parental abuse. Thirdly, self-esteem did a role of mediation variable between the school adjustment and the parental interest or abuse. Fourthly, academic achievement did not a role of mediator between the school adjustment and the parental interest, but did a role of mediator between the school adjustment and the parental abuse. The implication of the results was discussed.

본 연구는 특성화고등학교 2학년 학생을 대상으로 부모의 양육태도에 따라서 학생들의 학교적응이 영향을 받고, 그 과정에 자아존중감과 학업성적이 매개작용을 하는가를 실증적으로 검증하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 조사한 ‘한국아동･청소년패널조사(Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey; KCYPS)’ 자료에 대해 회귀분석과 SPSS Indirect macro를 이용한 매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특성화고등학교 학생들에게는 부모의 관심이 학교적응에 긍정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 특성화고등학교 학생들에게는 부모의 학대가 학교적응에 부정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 특성화고등학생의 자아존중감은 부모의 관심이나 학대가 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에 일부 매개변수 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 특성화고등학생의 학업성적은 부모의 관심이 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에 매개변수 역할을 하지는 못하고, 부모의 학대가 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에는 매개변수 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 반영하여 특성화고등학교와 교육 당국은 학생들의 부모와 협조하여 자녀를 양육하는 방법에 대해서 개선이 이루어지도록 하며, 특히 부모의 학대가 줄어들도록 할 필요가 있다. 학생들의 자아존중감과 학업성적의 개선을 위한 교육도 실시할 필요가 있다. 또 교육을 통하여 이러한 관계를 이해한 학생들의 자주적인 노력도 필요하다.
