This study investigated the historical background of the escort troops who defended the Royal escort of the royal family during the Joseon Dynasty and the former part of Joseon Dynasty, the middle period, the late period, and the after Gabo Reform. In addition, the 5th military and the military system examined the status of positions and personnel in the organizational chart of each organization, and the duties of the staff in charge of the research. The purpose of this study was to reaffirm the historical fact that the escort of the King and the royal family in the Joseon Dynasty systematically and systematically escorted him to provide self - esteem and pride in working as a police officer and to utilize it as educational data compared with the current security system. Although the historical background of the escort system in the Joseon Dynasty and the missions and system of the escort organization were reviewed, it was not possible to provide detailed information because of the limitations of the vast amount of literature and literature. Research is needed.

본 연구는 조선시대 최고 권력자이자 명령권자인 국왕과 왕실의 호위와 궁궐과 수도 한양의 수비하던 호위부대 기관에 대한 연구로 조선시대의 왕실의 호위에 대 하여 조선전기, 중기, 후기, 갑오개혁 이후로 나누어 시간적 개념으로 역사적 배경 을 연구하였다. 또한 5군영 체제와 금군 체제는 관련 연구자료와 문헌 등의 사료 적 연구를 통하여 각 기관별 조직도 내의 보직과 인원현황, 보직에 대한 임무 등을 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 조선시대 국왕과 왕실의 호위와 궁궐 등의 조직적 체계적 호 위를 한다는 역사적 사실을 재확인하여 경찰경호 근무를 하는데 자긍심과 긍지를 제공하고 현재 경호시스템과 비교하여 교육적 자료로 활용하는데 두었다. 본 연구를 통해 조선시대의 호위체제 역사적 배경과 호위 기관의 임무와 편제에 대하여 조망하였으나 방대한 양의 사료와 문헌연구의 한계점이 있기에 자세한 내 용을 담아낼 수는 없었기에 다음 연구에서 각 기간별로 미시적 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.
