Recently, crimes in our society have been increasing in quantity and becoming more and more widespread in terms of quality. In the situation where various accidents are constantly occurring, and the social uneasiness is rising, the Korean people want better quality security service and the desire for safety is increasing rapidly. However, it is difficult to cope with the increasing demands of police and the diverse needs of the people with the limited police force and resources, and the private security area is suggested as a solution. The private security industry in Korea started to grow rapidly in the 1950s, and as of the end of December 2013, 4,076 companies had 151,740 security guards. In terms of both quantitative and qualitative aspects, it is developing into a comprehensive form that utilizes cutting-edge equipment and technology in the simple expense of manpower. However, on the back of this rapid quantitative growth, there are various problems in quantitative growth and qualitative growth. In particular, it seems that there are various reasons for the lack of systematic and cyclical education on the institutional policy for the private security industry and the training of security personnel, and problems that can not be settled as professional occupations. In order to improve the professionalism and the quality of the private security business, this study finds the problems and improvement points of the new security training programs and suggests improvement plans through the empirical analysis of the new security training students who are beneficiaries of the new security training programs. 최근 우리 사회의 범죄가 양적으로 증가하고 있고, 질적으로도 흉폭화 되어 가 고 있다. 또 다른 여러 가지 사고가 끊임없이 생기고 있어 사회적 불안감이 높아지 고 있는 상황에서 우리 국민들은 보다 질 높은 치안서비스를 원하고 있으며, 안전 에 대한 욕구도 급격하게 증가하고 있다. 하지만, 현저하게 제한된 경찰 인력과 자 원만으로는 늘어만 가는 치안수요와 국민들의 다양한 욕구 충족에 적절히 대응하 기 어려운 상황에서 민간경비 영역이 그 해결방안으로 제시되고 있다. 우리나라에서 민간경비 산업의 시작은 1950년대 경비 업무를 시작으로 급속한 성장을 해왔으며, 2013년 12월말 현재 4,076개 업체에서 151,740명의 경비원이 종사하고 있다. 양적,질적인 면에서도 인력 위주의 단순한 경비에서 최첨단장비 및 기술을 활용한 융복 합적인 형태로 발전하고 있다. 하지만, 이와 같은 급격한 양적 성장의 이면에서는 양적인 성장과 질적인 성장에 있어서 여러 가지 문제들이 나타나고 있다. 특히, 민간경비산업에 대한 제도적 정책과 경비원 인력 양성에 대 한 체계적이고 순환적인인 교육의 미흡 및 전문 직종으로서의 정착이 되지 않는 문제로 부터 이어지는 여러 가지 이유를 안고 있는 것으로 보여진다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 민간경비업의 전문성 및 질적 향상을 위하여 일반경비원 신임교육훈련 제도적 문제점 및 개선점을 찾고 현재 시행되고 있는 일반경비원신 임교육 훈련의 수혜자인 신임교육 교육생들 대상으로 실증적 분석을 통해 개선방 안을 제시하고자 한다.
