The purpose of this study is to compare gait patterns of elementary school female students in higher grades pursuant to their character styles. Total 8 students of 4 female students with extroversive character and 4 female students with introverted character were selected through MMTIC extroversive-introverted character style tests conducted in advance on elementary school students in higher grades. Image analysis in 3 dimensions were used for kinematic analysis while force-platforms system was used for kinematical analysis. The test analyzed gait cycle, stride length, step width, walking speed, and maximum vertical ground reaction force and then, it drew following conclusions; First, as for walk styles of elementary school female students in higher grades pursuant to their character patterns, there was not significant differences in gait cycle, step width, and walking speed. Second, according to investigation of stride length pursuant to their character patterns, elementary school female students in higher grades with extroversive character was 75.3% of height, elementary school female students in higher grades with introversive character was 83.9% of height, which exhibited that students with introverted character had larger ratio as much as 8.7% than students with extroversive character. The statistical significance level was 0.000 showing significant difference. Third, according to investigation of average ratio of maximum vertical ground reaction force pursuant to their character patterns, elementary school female students in higher grades with extroversive character was 125.227% of weight, elementary school female students in higher grades with introversive character was 117.906% of weight, which exhibited that students with extroverted character had larger ratio as much as 7.320% than students with introversive character. The statistical significance level was 0.000 showing significant difference.

초등학교 고학년 여학생들을 대상으로 성격의 유형에 따른 보행 형태를 비교하였다. MMTIC 외향성-내향성 성격유형 검사를 통해 외향적인 성격과 내향적인 성격을 가진 연구대상자 각각 4명씩을 대상으로 3차원 영상분석 시스템, 지면반력 측정시스템을 사용하여 보행주기, 스트라이드 길이, 보간, 보행속도, 최대 수직 지면반력을 분석하였다. 성격 유형과 보행과의 관계를 알아보기 위해서 SPSS(ver. 22)를 이용하여 독립표본 T-test를 실시하였으며, 유의수준은 p<.05로 하였다. 연구결과, 보행주기, 보간, 보행속도는 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났고, 스트라이드길이와 최대 수직 지면반력에서 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 내향적인 학생이 외향적인 학생에 비해서 스트라이드 길이를 크게 하고 지면을 약하게 밟으면서 보행을 하는 경향을 보인다고 할 수 있다. 이와는 대조적으로외향적인 여학생은 스트라이드 길이는 짧게 하면서도 지면은 강하게 밟는 특징이 있다고 할 수 있다.
