The purposes of this study were to examine the research trends for law-related education in school between the Seventh Curriculum of 1997 when full-blown research on law-related education began and the present time of 2017 and find implications for research directions for future law-related education in school. For these purposes, the investigator searched papers that fully matched the keywords of a detailed search including "law-related education(LRE)," "school law," and "legal consciousness" in the Research Information Sharing Service(RISS). Of the search results, the following papers were excluded: the ones that did not investigate LRE in school; the ones that were overlapping in search results; and the ones with a similar topic between dissertations and articles in a domestic journal. Total 177 papers were included in the study, consisting of 43 dissertations and 134 articles published in domestic journals. Methodologies employed in the study include time series analysis, which analyzed the papers on LRE in school according to the meaningful curricular revision periods, and analysis by the research topics, which categorized the papers according to the central axis of teaching-learning. The findings led to the four implications: first, there should be long-term in-depth researches on teaching and learning content and methods; secondly, there is a need for experimental researches to test the effects of the developed content and methods for their application to the field; thirdly, it is urgent to conduct researches on teaching and learning evaluation; and finally, follow-up study should be carried out to adopt foreign cases according to the situations of the nation in addition to their introduction.

본 연구의 목적은 학교 법교육에 대한 본격적 연구가 시작된 된 1997년 제7차교육과정부터 2017년 현재까지의 학교 법교육(Law-Related Education)에 관한 연구 동향을 파악하고, 이후 학교 법교육의 연구 방향에 대한 시사점을 얻는데 있다. 이를 위해 학술연구정보서비스(riss)에서 상세검색 조건의 주제어 ‘법교육’, ‘law related educaton(LRE)’, ‘학교 법’, ‘법의식’에 완전일치 되는 논문을 검색하였다. 검색된 논문들 중에서 학교 법교육에 해당되지 않는 논문과 주제가 중복된 논문을 제외하고 177편의 논문을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 시계열 분석과 주제별 분석을 연구방법을 채택하여 학교 법교육 논문의 동향을 고찰하였다. 이러한 연구의 결과 4가지 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 교수-학습 내용과 방법에 관한 심층적인 연구가 장기간에 걸쳐 지속적으로 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 개발된 내용과 방법이 현장에 적용 가능하도록 그 효과를 검증하는 실험연구가 필요하다. 셋째, 교수-학습의 평가에 대한 연구가 절실하다는 것이다. 넷째, 외국의 사례는 소개에 그치지 말고 우리나라 상황에 맞게 도입할 수 있도록 후속 연구가 진행되어야 한다는 것이다.
