With the continuing dissolution of old gender dichotomies and the crisis of neo-liberalistic economic order, Korean men who have traditionally vested their interests are now expressing their anger and deprivation toward women in the form of misogyny. The church is the place in which misogyny has been maintained, and justified by religious beliefs. The misogynous tradition and culture are the main causes of the exodus of young women from the church. Misogyny in the church tends to be more often learned unconsciously and internalized, than through explicit learning. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and critically discuss the learning process of misogyny in the dimensions of explicit, implicit, and null curriculum. The Bible, doctrines, and Christian tradition, which constitute the main contents of the explicit curriculum, contain considerable amounts of misogynous content and interpretations. In the dimension of the implicit curriculum, the organizational system, compensation system, power relationship, communication and decision-making processes of educational institutions are also misogynous based on gender dichotomy. In the dimension of null curriculum, women’s body and sexuality have been excluded. Another serious problem is the absence of women in the Bible and Christian traditions. In order to overcome these problems, Christian education needs to develop the explicit curriculum for helping women’s critical memory and creative imagination. Second, the implicit curriculum needs to create a culture of equality and inclusiveness to overcome the exclusive and hierarchical gender dichotomy in the Korean church. Finally, women’s bodies, sexualities, and stories which have been null curriculum, should be developed as an explicit curriculum.

근대적 젠더 이분법의 해체와 신자유주의 경제 질서의 위기 가운데 대다 수 한국인의 삶의 조건이 악화되면서 전통적으로 기득권을 지녔던 남성 들이 자신들의 분노와 박탈감을 여성혐오로 표출하고 있다. 이러한 여성 혐오 문화가 종교적 신념에 의해 유지되고 정당화되는 곳이 바로 교회이 다. 기독교의 여성혐오적인 전통과 문화는 젊은 세대 여성들의 교회 이 탈의 주된 원인이 되고 있다. 교회 내의 여성혐오는 표면적으로 드러나 기보다 무의식적으로 학습되고 내면화되는 경향이 강하다. 그러므로 여 성혐오가 학습되는 과정을 명시적, 내재적, 영 커리큘럼의 차원에서 분 석하고, 비판적으로 논의하는 것이 필요하다. 기독교교육에서 명시적인 커리큘럼의 주된 내용이 되는 성서, 교리, 기독교 전통은 여성혐오적인 내용과 해석을 상당히 많이 내포하고 있다. 내재적 커리큘럼에 해당하는 교육기관의 조직 체계, 보상 체계, 권력 관계, 의사소통과 의사결정 과정 역시 이분법적 젠더 이해에 근거한 여성혐오적인 태도를 지니고 있다. 영 커리큘럼의 차원에서 볼 때 여성의 몸과 섹슈얼리티는 교육과정에서 배제되거나 부정적으로 취급되어 왔고, 성서와 기독교 전통에서 여성들 의 부재도 심각한 문제이다. 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해서는 기존의 명시적 커리큘럼의 내용에 대한 비판적 기억과 창조적 상상력이 필요하 다. 두 번째로, 교회의 배타적이고 위계적인 젠더 이분법을 극복하기 위 한 포용과 평등의 문화를 형성하는 내재적 커리큘럼이 필요하다. 마지막 으로, 교육과정에서 배제되어 왔던 여성의 몸과 성 그리고 여성들의 이 야기가 명시적 커리큘럼으로 개발되어야 한다.
