Gayageum Byeongchang is a genre of singing vocal songs like Pansori, Danga, folk song, etc. with Gayageum accompaniment by the singer in person. This study examined Teaching·Learrnig method of ‘Gogocheonbyeon,’ Gayageum Byeongchang on the basis of 2009 revised curriculum of music. As for appreciation area, in order to understand Gayageum Byeongchang in the socio-cultural context, its process of formation was investigated from the socio-cultural aspects. For understanding in the historical context, its process of transition was examined. In addition, characteristics of ‘Gogocheonbyeon’ were figured out for better understanding of its musical elements and concept. As for expression area, teaching methods for Sori and Gayageum accompaniment were suggested to express in a correct posture by going after the characteristics of musical pieces. As the basis of Sori, first, method of breathing, pronunciation, and Sigimsae were practiced and story songs were understood. As for rhythm practice, main rhythm patterns of jungjungmori were figured out. As Sea according to rhythm was expressed, playing major beat and minor beat together was practiced. As for Sori practice, songs were sung by understanding signs on melody musical notes and expressing various kinds of Sigimsae with correct pronunciation. As for teaching Gayageum accompaniment, melody of Gayageum accompaniment was reconstituted by associating with rhythm pattern of Jungjungmori. To proceed the procedure from step 1 to step 6 enable to reach the achievement criteria such as ‘to grasp the main rhythmic form of the music and play to the rhythm’, ‘to play and express the stress of the proper rhythm of music’, ‘to distinguish between various Sigimsae of the music’, to understand Jeongganbo, staff notaion and to play with expressing sign or symbol of the score. Like above, composition principle of Gayageum accompaniment melody in accordance with song melody was specifically and systematically as for Gayageum Byeongchang. When a teacher instructs singing together in Gayageum at practical educational sites, it is possible to modify 1∼6 steps depending on students’ ability and school conditions. Whether the step is high or low is not in direct proportion to essential understanding and learning of Gayageum Byeongchang.

가야금병창은 판소리, 단가, 민요 등의 성악곡을 가창자가 직접 가야금으로 반주를 하면서 노래 부르는 장르이다. 본고는 2009 개정 음악과 교육과정에 근거하여 가야금병창 ‘고고천변’의 교수․학습 방안을 제시하는 데 목적을 두었다. 표현영역에서 ‘바른 자세로 악곡의 특징을 살려 표현하기’의 내용체계에 제시된 성취기준을 달성하기 위하여 소리와 가야금반주 지도를 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 소리의 기초로서 먼저 호흡법을 익히고 통성과 시성을 구별하여 적절한 발성으로 요성, 추성, 퇴성 등의 시김새를 연습한다. 노랫말 속의 한자어의 의미를 찾아보고 그것을 문장 안에 대입시켜 해석하고, 단어와 어미의 사투리적 표현, 서자침 등의 발음에 유의한다. 장단 익히기에서는 중중모리 장단의 주박과 부박을 활용하여 다양한 패턴을 연습하였고, 소리 익히기에서는 가락선 악보에 나타난 부호들을 이해하여 정확한 발음으로 여러 가지 시김새를 표현하여 노래 부르도록 하였다. 가야금반주 지도에서는 중중모리 장단의 리듬꼴과 연계하여 단계별로 가야금 반주선율을 재구성하였다. 1단계부터 6단계까지의 과정을 순차적으로 진행하여 ‘악곡의 주요 장단꼴을 파악하여 장단에 맞추어 연주하기’, ‘악곡에 알맞은 장단의 세를 표현하며 연주하기’, ‘악곡의 여러 가지 시김새를 구별하여 표현하기’, ‘정간보나 오선보를 이해하고 악보의 부호나 기호 등을 표현하여 연주하기’ 등의 성취기준에 도달할 수 있다. 이상과 같이 가야금병창에서 노래선율에 따른 가야금 반주선율의 구성 원리를 구체적이고 체계적으로 제시하였다. 실제 교육 현장에서 교사가 가야금병창을 지도할 때에는 1∼6단계 중 학생의 능력과 학교 여건에 따라 조정이 가능하며, 단계의 높고 낮음이 가야금병창의 본질적 이해와 학습과 비례하지는 않는다.
