This research aims at examining the contents related to Haegeum included in high school music textbooks following the revised curriculum in 2009. In accordance with the goal, the scope of research covers 13 kinds of high school music textbooks in total following the revised curriculum of 2009 applied since 2014. As for the research contents and methods, first, the substance relevant to Haegeum of, music curriculum was investigated, second, the current state of the contents about Haegeum in the music textbooks were studied, and third, the guidance and learning activities in relation to Haegeum were analyzed in the content systems suggested in the curriculum and each category. With these research goals, the study results are as follows. First, all the 13 kinds of high school music textbooks of music and life and music and career included contents relevant to Haegeum. Yet, most of the textbooks just had its pictures rather than deal with it in depth. Second, with regard to the learning activities related to Haegeum suggested in the music textbooks, almost all of them were about the formation of instruments including Haegeum. As for the music relevant to it, Yeongsanhoeisang(the Vulture Peak Assembly), Jongmyo Jereak(royal ancestral rites music), songs, Sujecheon and etc. were being most frequently introduced in case of traditional classical music, Sinawi and Sanjo in case of folk music, and 'Since around the evening till dawn comes' in case of created songs. Third, regarding to the teaching subjects and learning activities of each area of Haegeum, in the system of the two contents of music and daily music textbooks, musical expressions and communication accounted for the biggest part in the 10 kinds of the textbooks, while music as the cultural outcome was being rarely mentioned about in all the 10 textbooks. As for the two contents system of music and career music textbooks, all the 3 kinds of textbooks were proved to cover music and career and characteristics with more emphasis on than experiences of music and field area. Based on these research results, it was found out that as the high school music textbook system changed from authorized textbooks to recognized ones, some textbooks of certain publishing companies were not strictly abiding by the contents of all areas clearly stated in the curriculum. In addition, the difference in the rate of the contents not only about Haegeum but also about Korean classical music was big among publishing companies. It's a pity that there were some textbooks where Korean music was scarcely covered depending on their writing staff, which failed to give learners the opportunities to learn various kinds of music. Therefore, this research is expected to give different implications about the desirable direction for the education of Korean traditional music when a textbook is developed following a new curriculum in the future.

본 연구의 목적은 2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 고등학교 음악교과서에 수록된 해금 관련 내용들을 고찰해 보는 것이다. 이에 따른 연구 범위는 2014년부터 사용하고 있는 2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 고등학교 음악교과서로 그것은 10종의 음악과 생활 교과서와 3종의 음악과 진로 교과서의 총 13종이며, 연구 내용과 방법은 첫째, 음악과 교육과정의 해금 관련 내용들을 살펴보고, 둘째, 음악교과서의 해금 내용 수록 현황을 살펴보며, 셋째, 해금과 관련된 지도내용 및 학습활동을 교육과정에서 제시하고 있는 내용 체계 및 영역별로 분석하는 것이다. 이러한 연구 목적 하에 다음과 같은 연구 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 음악과 생활과 음악과 진로, 총 13종의 고등학교 음악교과서 모두 해금에 대한 내용을 수록하고 있었다. 그러나 대부분의 교과서에서는 심도 있게 해금에 대한 내용을 다루기보다는 사진을 수록하는 정도가 주를 이루었다. 둘째, 음악교과서에 제시된 해금 관련 학습활동을 보면, 대부분 해금이 포함된 악기 편성을 알아보는 활동이 가장 많았으며, 이와 관련된 악곡으로는 정악곡에서는 영산회상, 종묘 제례악, 가곡, 수제천 등을 가장 많이 소개하고 있고, 민속악에서는 시나위와 산조를, 창작곡에서는 ‘그 저녁 무렵부터 새벽이 오기까지’의 곡을 수록하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 해금의 영역별 지도내용 및 학습활동을 살펴보면, 음악과 생활 교과서의 두 가지 내용 체계 가운데 대부분 10종 교과서에서는 음악적 표현과 소통 영역에 대한 내용이 많은 비중을 차지하였고, 문화적 산물로서의 음악 영역에 대한 내용은 10종 모두 거의 다루어지지 않고 있었다. 마찬가지로 음악과 진로 교과서의 두 가지 내용 체계 중 3종의 교과서 모두 음악의 경험과 현장 영역에 대한 내용보다는 음악의 진로와 특성 영역에 대한 내용을 비중 있게 다루고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 알 수 있는 것은, 고등학교 음악교과서 체제가 검정교과서에서 인정교과서로 바뀌면서 교육과정에서 명시하고 있는 전 영역의 내용을 골고루 모두 다 엄격히 준수하지 않는 교과서도 있으며 또한, 해금에 대한 내용뿐만 아니라 국악의 비중도 출판사마다 그 비율의 차이가 매우 크고, 집필진에 따라 국악의 내용이 거의 다루어지지 않는 교과서가 있어 학습자들에게 다양한 음악을 배울 수 있는 기회를 줄 수 없어 아쉬움이 남는다. 따라서 본 연구는 향후 새로운 교육과정에 의한 교과서가 제작될 때, 바람직한 국악교육의 방향에 대한 여러 가지 시사점을 줄 수 있게 되기를 기대한다.
