｢March 1st Independence Manifesto｣ (The Declaration of Korean Independence) issued a declaration by the 33 Korean leaders on March 1, 1919 during black period of Japanese colonial rule. Also Korean Peoples were possessed the manifesto yelled for Korean independence and waved the Korean flag on March 1st Independence Movement. In this respect, ｢March 1st Independence Manifesto｣ is a cultural heritage and document of universal values for Koreans. Two selected among several ｢March 1st Independence Manifesto｣ became registered cultural properties by Cultural Heritage Administration on Oct. 20, 2016. Also another two of ｢March 1st Independence Manifesto｣ owned by Independence Hall of Korea in Cheon-an, South Chung-cheong Province became National Records Designation No.12 by National Archives of Korea on Dec. 2015. Now We should preserve it and then pass it down to our descendants. In the study, I inspected in detail about original, different version, typesetting, document handed down printing, date of printing, number of copies of ｢March 1st Independence Manifesto｣.

｢3ㆍ1독립선언서｣는 암울하던 일제강점기에 민족대표 33인이 발의하고, 전국적으로 온 국민이 참여하여 우리나라 독립을 국내외에 알린 문서이다. 그런 점에서 우리 민족에게는 보편적인 가치를 주는 문화유산이자 기록물이라고 하겠다. 그 중에서 두 점이 2016년 10월에 등록문화재가 되었고, 2015년 12월에 지정된 국가지정기록물 제12호에도 독립기념관 소장의 두 점이 포함되어 있다. 이제 ｢3ㆍ1독립선언서｣는 국가가 나서 보호하여 후세에 물려주어야 하는 우리의 문화재이자 기록물이 되었다. 이 연구에서는 근자에 국가의 문화재이자 기록물로 인정받게 된 ｢3ㆍ1독립선언서｣ 원본, 판본, 조판, 전본, 인쇄일, 인쇄매수 등에 대해 서지적으로 살폈다.
