[Purpose] This study aimed to understand the problems of the TV golf relay broadcasting and improve it, by analyzing the unsatisfying factors for the decline in rating of the golf relay broadcasting. [Method] In this study, the individual characteristics, watching time, the image of broadcast, and the image of commentators were regarded to be the important factors. [Result] The results of this study were as following; First, among the individual characteristics, the golf career was the only factor which influenced to the unsatisfying factor. Second, the watching time significantly influenced the information acquisition and programming. Third, the image of broadcast or commentators proved to be the important elements which influenced the unsatisfying factors directly. Based on these results, this study suggested the improvement directions of TV golf relay broadcasting like followings; offering various informations about players, efforts of commentators to improve their ability of commentary and expertise, and the diversification and differentiation of the golf programs.

[목적] 이 연구는 골프 중계방송의 시청률이 부진하다는 문제의식 하에, 그 요인을 분석하여 TV 골프 중계방송의 개선책을 모색하고자 했다. [방법] 시청자들의 골프 중계방송 시청에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 시청자의 개인적 특성, 시청 시간, 방송사 이미지, 해설위원 등을 선정하여 분석했다. [결과] 첫째, 개인적 특성 중 중계방송 시청 불만족과 유의미한 정(+)의 상관관계를 갖는 것은 골프 경력뿐인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 시청 선호 시간은 시청 불만족 요인 중 정보 습득과 진행에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 방송사와 해설위원의 이미지는 시청 불만족에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 골프 중계방송이 나아갈 방향으로 선수에 관한 다양한 정보 제공, 해설자의 전문지식 향상과 진행방법 고찰, 골프 프로그램의 다양화와 차별화를 도출해 내었다.
