The study wanted to raise the need for a related study, saying that it needs to translate into a suicide victim rather than a soldier of chronic alcoholic disease dealing with the chronic alcohol disease dealt with by police. The study was aimed at 176 cases of chronic alcohol cases caused by chronic alcoholic diseases from January to December of 2016 in Busan area. The research is done based on the alcoholics suicide occurred in fifteen police district under Busan Metropolitan Police Agency using scientific crime analysis system (SCAS). The status analysis was conducted according to the drinking habits. Policy suggestions based on the study results are as follows. First, it needs to be actively involved in a clear concept of the dangers of suicide and alcohol. Second, the process of dealing with chronic alcohol diseases should be dealt with in the process of dealing with chronic alcohol diseases rather than dealing with chronic alcohol treatment. Third, management of chronic alcohol drinkers and national level management of chronic alcohol diseases are needed. Most of all, if they send positive attention and help the victims of chronic alcoholic diseases and effective measures, it will greatly affect the prevention of chronic alcohol diseases.

본 연구는 알코올관련 질환자의 변사사건을 대상으로 병사가 아닌 자살로 재해석해야 한다는 입장에서 관련 연구의 필요성을 제기하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 2016년 1월부터 12월까지 1년간 부산지역에서 발생한 알코올관련 질환으로 인한 176건의 변사사건을 대상으로 하였다. 연구대상은 부산지방경찰청 관할의 15개 지역 경찰서에서 발생한 내용의 알코올관련 질환 등으로 인해 병원에서 알코올관련 질환으로 진단을 받았지만 음주를 지속적으로 사망한 통계를 경찰청 과학적범죄분석시스템(SCAS)을 활용하여 연구자가 분석하였다. 분석결과를 토대로 한 정책적 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자살과 알코올관련 질환의 위험성에 대한 명확한 개념의 연구가 활발히 이루어져야 할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 알코올관련 질환자가 사망하여 변사처리를 진행하는데 있어 자살로 분류할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 알코올관련 질환자의 지속적 음주로 인한 관리와 국가차원의 정책이 필요하다. 무엇보다 알코올관련 질환자들에 대한 주변의 적극적인 관심과 도움의 손길을 보내고 효과적인 방안을 마련한다면 알코올관련 질환자의 자살을 예방하는데 많은 영향을 줄 것이다.
