In this thesis, the author examined the changes of university that was changed to a new grading system for the purpose of operating efficient academic advising subject. As a part of the investigation method, It aims to show the aspect of achievement of change the way in which grades are given through investigate to 'self-improvement of Dongguk university studentⅠ' of Dongguk university that was changed from P/F to grading system since 1st semester 2016. According to a recent study on the way in which grades are given of academic advising subject, More colleges are required to complete mandatory seminars on freshmen instruction courses, aslo A 90% of universities give grade for freshmen who attends at the seminar. In case of a university giving grade, Most of the universities operated P/F(77.9%) and relative evaluation(22.1%) in the way in which grades are given of the orientation seminar. P/F evaluation method that operated in most of universities have a lot of advantages, on the other hand, the disadvantage of hindrance the efficiency of the curriculum can be found in numerous universities. To solve problems related to these grades and lesson selected Dongguk university that was changed to grading system from 1st semester of 2016. And then the opinions of Dongguk university professors and freshmen were compared and anylyzed about the need for achange in the direction of the way in which grades are given As a result new improvements and solutions were proposed and the research was conducted to investigate the efficient operation of the university.

본고는 등급제 평가방법의 필요성에 입각하여 효율적 신입생 학사지도 교과목의 운영을 위해 성적부여 방식을 전환한 대학이 어떤 변화양상을 보여주는지를 조사함으로써 그 현황을 살펴보았다. 그 조사방법의 일환으로 2016학년 1학기부터 P/F 성적부여방식에서 상대평가인 등급제 성적부여방식으로 변경한 동국대의 신입생 학사지도 교과목 ‘동국인의 자기계발 1’을 조사대상으로 삼아 학사지도 교과목의 성적부여 방식전환에 따른 학습성과의 변화양상 밝히고자 한다. 이러한 학사지도 교과목의 성적부여방식에 대한 최근 연구결과에 따르면 학사지도 교과목을 필수로 이수하도록 요구하는 대학들이 증가하고 있으며, 신입생 학사지도 교과목에 학점을 부여하는 대학이 90%를 차지하고 있다. 학점을 부여하는 경우 오리엔테이션 세미나의 성적부여방식은 P/F(77.9%)로 대부분의 대학이 운영하고 있었고, 상대평가(22.1%)는 소수로 나타났다. 국내 대부분의 대학이 운영하고 있는 P/F 성적부여방식은 장점도 많지만, 반면에 교과목 수업에 효율성을 저해하는 단점과 문제점 또한 대학교육 현장에서 쉽게 발견할 수 있다. 이러한 성적부여 및 수업평가와 관련하여 제기된 문제점을 해결하기 위해 P/F 성적부여방식에서 상대평가인 등급제로 성적부여방식을 변경한 동국대를 조사대상으로 선정하고, 성적부여 방식전환의 필요성에 대한 동국대 신입생 학사지도교수와 신입생들의 의견을 비교, 분석하여 제시한 개선사항과 해결방안을 기준으로 효율적 학사지도 교과목의 운영 실태를 조사하였다.
