UN general meeting have settled the resolution of world religions’ peace and harmony through out 11 meetings from 1981 to 2010. The first resolution ‘abolished all prejudicial and uncompromising deeds that was based on any type faith or religion’ in 1981. Afterward those results have led UN general meeting to proclaim the ‘World Interfaith Harmony Week’ in 2010. UN general meeting had undergone multiple settlement sessions because it is inevitable fact that unity between the world’s religions is directly related to world peace. Such resolution incorporating peace discussions first based on human rights that relates to freedom of religions and faith and of course the human right its self. Its purpose is to reduce the conflict and prejudice among religions by gaining respect and tolerance through understanding and conversation. More importantly the peace resolution declare the point that these understanding and tolerance among religions is eventually leading to the world peace. The resolution from the UN general meeting distinctly proves religious peace must come first for the realization of world peace.

유엔 총회는 ‘세계 종교간 화합과 평화에 관한 결의문’을 1981년부터 2010년까지 총 11회 에 걸쳐 채택하였다. 1981년에 채택된 최초의 결의문은 ‘종교나 본래 신앙으로 인한 모든 형태 의 비타협적 태도와 차별을 제거하는 선언’이었으며, 이후 2010년 유엔 총회에서 결의된 ‘세계 종교간 화합 주 행사’(World Interfaith Harmony Week) 선포가 그것들이다. 유엔 총회가 이렇게 다수에 걸쳐 결의문을 통과시킨 것은 세계 종교간 화합이 세계 평화와 직결되기 때문이 라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 유엔 총회의 결의문이 지닌 평화담론은 먼저 종교와 신앙의 자유는 인권에 기초하고 있으면 인권 그 자체임을 분명히 하는 것이었다. 다음 종교간 이해와 대화를 통해 종교간 존중 과 관용의 태도를 증진시킴으로써 종교간 갈등과 차별에 따른 폭력을 제거하는 것이다. 또한 유엔 총회의 결의문이 지닌 평화담론은 종교간 이해와 관용이야말로 세계평화를 이루는 길이 라는 점을 선포하는 것이다. 종교평화 없이 세계평화 없다고 하는 점을 분명히 밝히고 있는 것 이 유엔 총회의 결의문이라는 말이다.
