The purpose of this study was, through a human storytelling, to explore the methods to reorganize one of Korea's representative contents of baduk culture, the baduk theme park in Buan, Jollabuk-do. The theme park is currently located within Julpo mudflat ecological park, but it has no facilities for the park to be called a baduk park, nor utilization plans except for some places and outdoor boards for playing the game. To revitalize the theme park and increase the number of the visitors to the park who are willing to have theirhands-on experience of the baduk culture. This study examined the methods to use the human storytelling to analyze the life and value of Cho, Nam-cheol who was born in Buan and now represents Korea's modern baduk community. The study analyzed the fact through examining his life that he made great efforts to specialize, culturalize, and popularize the baduk based on the idea of 'serving the country through the baduk art'. In addition, it suggested the methods to give some spatial characteristics to the theme park by overlaying the stories this fact based on this fact with the theme park. These human storytelling strategies included three items: the strategy focusing on the house of his birth, the strategy combining the value of his life with the place, and the strategy linking these things with the contents of the baduk in the Honam region. It is expected that developing the contents of the baduk culture through this personal storytelling will lead to the development of the local cultural industry along with the advancement of the baduk culture.

본 연구는 우리나라의 대표적인 바둑문화콘텐츠 중에 하나인 전라북도 부안의 바둑테마공원을 인물 스토리텔링을 통하여 재구성하는 방안을 모색한 것이다. 부안의 바둑테마공원은 현재 줄포생태갯벌공원 내에 위치해있지만 대국장과 야외 바둑판 이외에는 바둑공원이라 불릴만한 시설과 활용 방안이 존재하지 않는다. 이러한 바둑테마공원의 활성화와 이를 통한 방문객의 바둑문화 체험 증가를 위하여 본 연구에서는 부안 출신으로 한국 현대 바둑을 대표하는 인물인 조남철의 생애와 그의 가치를 분석하는 인물 스토리텔링을 활용한 방안을 고찰하였다. 조남철의 생애 연구를 통하여 그가 기도보국 사상을 바탕으로 바둑의 전문화, 문화화, 대중화를 꾀하였음을 분석하였다. 그리고 이를 기본 골조로 한 이야기를 부안의 바둑테마공원에 덧입혀 바둑테마공원을 장소화하는 방안을 제안하였다. 이는 첫째, 조남철 생가를 활용한 인물 포커스 전략, 둘째, 생애 가치와 공간 융합 전략, 셋째, 호남지역 바둑콘텐츠와의 연계 전략의 세부 전략으로 실현가능하다. 이와 같은 인물 스토리텔링을 통한 바둑문화콘텐츠 개발은 바둑문화의 발전과 함께 지역문화산업의 발전을 가져올 것으로 기대한다.
