This study aims to analyze the concept of EVENT of Ethics, focusing on the MULTIPLE thesis of Being and Event, in Badiou. This article proves that ‘what-is-being-qua-being’ is multiplicity as pure indifference of beings, which is found on the axiom for the prohibition of self-belonging. But ‘what-is-not-being-qua-being’ occurs ‘evental’ self-belonging. That means self-belonging to constitutive of the event. This dispute retrospectively provides a place to disprove that there is an inconsistent multiplicity which can not be counted-as-one in the presentation. A non-existent as being is understood through a supernumerary within presentation of presentation, when the empty set appears out of meta-structure to event. Exceeding being means being to be understood not within the perspective of being(situation), but from the point of view of the event(or the edge of the void).

이 글은 바디우 저서 『존재와 사건』에서 개진한 다수에 관한 논의를 구체화한 관련내용을 중심으로 동저자 『윤리학』의 주요 개념인 사건을 분석하는 데 목적을 둔다. 이를 통해 존재로서­존재함이 무차이의 차이로 존재한다는 점과 존재론이 자기-귀속 금지의 공리를 토대로 구축되어 있음이 밝혀진다. 사건은 자기-귀속 금지의 공리가 적용되지 않는 공백의 (사건적)가장자리에서 발생한다. 자기­귀속이 풀린 사건은 식별 불가능한 비정합적이고 하나로­셈할 수 없는 다수가 있음을 소급적으로 반증한다. 비정합적 다수의 계열인 순수다수와 공백과 무한은 현시 및 상황에서 식별 불가능하다. 하지만 현시의 현시, 즉 메타구조에서는 그 흔적은 기표로 남길 수 있다. 이 개념의 연장 선상에서 사건의 본질이 존재를 초과하는 다수로 논의될 수 있다. 존재를 초과한다는 뜻은 존재의 관점 내부가 아니라 사건의 관점에서 존재의 관점에 영혼의 시선을 둘 때 이해된다.
