This research analyzed the control effects of five personality factors in the relationship between smartphone addiction and stress coping methods among 350 students in a four-year college in South Choong-cheong area, and the result of the analysis is as follows. First, active coping methods were found to be mainly used in the case of smartphone addiction. Secondly, the correlation among stress coping methods, smartphone addiction and five personality factors was having positive and negative effects onto each other. Thirdly, the analysis showed statistically significant results only in the coping methods centered on dealing with problems and neurosis Based on the research results, ways to apply them in real counseling, the limitations of the research and suggestions for follow-up study were described.

본 연구는 충청지역 4년제 대학 학생 350명을 대상으로 스마트폰 중독과 스트레스대처방식 과의 관계에서 성격5요인의 조절효과를 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스트레스대처방식의 경우 적극적 대처방식을 주로 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 스트레스대처방식과 스마트폰중독, 성격5요인의 상관관계는 상호 간 정(+)적인 영향과 부(-)적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 셋째, 조절효과 분석결과 문제해결중심대처방식과 신경증만 통계적으로 유의미한 결과가 나 타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 실제 상담에서의 활용방안과 연구의 제한점 및 후속연구를 위 한 제언이 기술되었다.
