And the long-winded explanation based in detailed description gives aid to the prose writings through the effect that awakens the aesthetic emotion so that it may support the estimation of ' There was not blocked in the least because it seemed the wind to go and the water to flow ' and ' Its wide and haughty flowing seemed to flow the river water to the sea'. But in contrast with this, the contents that were regarded to be unnecessary were described curtly or omitted.

목은(牧隱) 이색(李穡)(1328-1396)의 누정기(樓亭記) 기사(紀事)는 누정의 외관이나 주위 경관 및 공사의 과정을 묘사보다는 주로 서술에 의존하여 기술하고 있다. 누정 주위의 경관이나 누정의 외관 및 공사 과정을 감각에 호소하는 묘사보다 사실이나 지식 전달을 위주로 하는 관념적인 서술에 의존하여 기술하는 것이다. 이는 고려 후기 성리학 수용 이후 자신의 정치적 입지 확보를 위해 철학적 정치적 논리를 치밀하게 전개하기 시작하여 의론이 더욱 강화되는데, 이때 기사를 의론의 전제로 삼기 때문이다.상세한 기술에 바탕한 장황한 나열은 강조하려는 부분에서 나타난다. 상세하고 장황한 기술은 글에 힘을 실어 ‘바람이 가고 물이 흐르는 것 같아서 조금도 막힘이 없었고’ ‘그 넓고도 도도한 흐름은 마치 강물이 바다로 흘러들어가는 듯하였다’는 평가를 받았고, ‘침착하여 여유가 있고 혼후하여 한량이 없는’ ‘웅혼’한 미감을 창출한다. 그런데 이러한 장황함과는 대조적으로 건물 주위의 경관건물의 외관건물의 연원 흥발의 역사공사의 전말청탁의 경위 등을 간략하게 서술하거나 생략하기도 한다. 이는 작품의 초점을 어디에 두느냐에 따라 의도적으로 고안된 것이다.
