The purpose of this research was to evaluate the moderating effect of social support on the relationships of childhood trauma and posttraumatic growth. Data was collected from 761 college students nationwide who participated in various questionnaires. The results were analyzed and interpreted using hierarchical regression. The results indicated that social support moderated between childhood trauma and posttraumatic growth partially. Looking specifically as follows: First, we found that emotional neglect affected posttraumatic growth. Second, emotional, evaluative, informative and materialistic support moderated between emotional neglect and new possibilities. Third, emotional, evaluative, informative and materialistic support moderated between emotional neglect and personal strength. Limitations of current study and suggestions for the future investigations are included in the discussion.

본 연구는 아동기 외상과 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 조절효과를 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 전국의 대학생 761명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하고, 위계적 회귀 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 아동기 외상과 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 부분적 인 조절효과가 나타났다. 구체적으로 살펴보면, 첫째, 아동기 외상 중 정서방임이 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향력이 유의미했다. 둘째, 정서방임과 새로운 가능성의 발견의 관계에서 정 서적 지지, 평가적 지지, 정보적 지지, 물질적 지지의 조절효과가 유의미했다. 셋째, 정서방 임과 개인 내적 힘의 발견의 관계에서 정서적 지지, 평가적 지지, 정보적 지지, 물질적 지지 의 조절효과가 유의미했다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 시사점과 후속연구를 위한 제언들을 제시 하였다.
