The purpose of this study is to verify the possibility of usage of Person In The Rain(PITR) test as a tool which can predict office worker's personality traits. The participants for this study were 274 people who works for S company in Seoul. PITR test, Stress Coping Style Scale and Zuckerman- Kuhlman Personality Test were used for this study as the study instruments. And Social Desirability Scale was used to control positive response distortion. The data were analyzed using correlation analysis, Hierarchical Regression Analysis and Response Characteristics. The results are as follows. Stress scale of PITR showed positive correlation with Aggression- Hostility, stress coping resource scale of PITR showed negative correlation with Neuroticism-Anxiety in the correlation analysis among PITR test, stress coping style and personality traits. The result of hierarchical regression analysis to examine the variables which can predict personality traits showed that stress scale of PITR predicted Aggression-Hostility and stress coping resource scale of PITR predicted Neuroticism-Anxiety. Neuroticism-Anxiety revealed significant correlation with facial expressions and stroke. Aggression-Hostility revealed significant correlation with the contact of the person and the rain, average properness of protective, facial expressions in PITR. As in above result, PITR test predicted Neuroticism-Anxiety and Aggression- Hostility. And this study has meaning that proved inherent predictability of PITR for Neuroticism-Anxiety and Aggression-Hostility by comparing with predictability of stress coping strategy scale.

본 연구는 빗속의 사람그림(PITR) 검사가 직장인의 성격특성을 예측할 수 있는 도구로서의 활용 가능성을 알아보는데 목적 이 있다. 연구대상은 서울시 S기업에 근무하고 있는 직장인 274명이며, 연구도구는 PITR 검사, 스트레스 대처방식 척도, 주커만-쿨만 성격검사와 사회적 바람직성 척도를 사용하였다. 자료분석은 상관분석과 위계적 회귀분석, 반응특성을 실시 하였다. 상관분석 결과，PITR 스트레스 척도의 합은 공격성-적대감과 정적상관이 나타났고, PITR 대처자원 척도의 합은 신경증-불안과 부적상관이 나타났다. 성격특성의 예측변인을 알아보기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 PITR 스트레 스 대처자원 척도는 신경증-불안을，PITR 스트레스 척도는 공격성-적대감을 예측하였다. 성격특성에 따른 PITR 반응특성 결과 신경증-불안은 얼굴표정과 스트로크에서, 공격성-적대감은 비와 사람의 접촉, 직접 보호물의 적절성과 얼굴표정에서 유의한 상관이 나타났다. 이상에서와 같이 PITR 그림검사는 성격특성의 신경증-불안과 공격성-적대감을 예측하였고, 특히 자기보고식 척도에서 예측할 수 없었던 공격성-적대감에 대한 PITR의 고유한 예측력을 밝혀냈다는 데에 그 의의를 가진다.
