This study set out to review the examples of ‘-/(yeo)’ in Seokdokgugyuol the letters attached, sort out the types of their construction, and examine their characteristics. In those materials, ‘-/(yeo)’ was used in NP conjunctive construction, naming construction, explanation construction, inversion construction, causal sentence, exclamatory sentence, vocative construction, clause connection, and ending construction. In the 15th and 16th century, ‘-ijə’ was combined with ‘-eundyeo’ and ‘-eulssyeo’. It had been thus understood as an exclamatory particle originally. The review results, however, conclude that it is difficult to understand it as an ‘exclamatory particle’ ‘originally’ partially because it is found more in examples that hardly have an exclamatory meaning and partially because the number of examples in which it clearly has an exclamatory meaning is small.

이 글은 자토석독구결 자료의 ‘-/’의 예를 검토하고 구문 유형을 정리, 그 특징을 살펴본 것이다. 자토석독구결 자료에서 ‘-/’는 명사구 접속 구문, 명명 구문, 설명 구문, 도치 구문, 이유 구문, 감탄 구문, 부름 구문, 절 접속 및 종결 구문에서 쓰인다. 15‧16세기의 ‘-은뎌’, ‘-을쎠’ 등에는 ‘-(이)여’가 결합되어 있으며, 이는 기원적으로 감탄조사라고 이해되어왔으나 검토 결과 ‘기원적’으로 ‘감탄’조사로 이해하기 어렵다는 결론에 이르게 되었다. ‘-/’는 감탄의 의미를 갖는다고 보기 힘든 예에서 오히려 더 많이 확인될 뿐만 아니라 분명히 감탄의 의미를 갖는다고 볼 수 있는 예도 소수에 그치기 때문이다.
