This paper looks into the patterns of acceptance of samjang-munsun(三場文選) and argues its significance, which had been published during the Joseon dynasty. And to examine the significance of what was published at the national level. As a result, it was confirmed that there were two purposes of publishing purpose and significance. First, Samjang-munsun(三場文選) has significance as a compiled book to pursue ideological purity at the national level. In the early Joseon Dynasty, Neo-confucianism was adopted as a political ideology. Therefore, many books on Neo-confucianism were imported from China. It is one of these, especially related to the past system of Joseon. In the early Joseon period, the past system was implemented as an institutional basis for strengthening the kingship. In order to strengthen the kingship, it was necessary to disseminate the national ideology of Neo-confucianism at the time, but the past system was a good means to achieve this. Especially in the Joseon who accepted the past system of Yuan Dynasty, this book was suitable to present as an example of past exam. In addition, the answer sheets were prepared in accordance with the contents of the world Outlook of Neo-confucianism, so it corresponds to the ideological aspect that Joseon had intended at that time. Second, it has significance as a book published for the purpose of confirming the form of the Daechaekmun(對策文) in the situation where there is no test answer example in the early Joseon era. Since the country was built shortly, the answers to the questions that were set as an example were not accumulated. Therefore, it was necessary to provide a kind of guidebook for the writing of the texts at the national level. In particular, Samjang-munsun(三場文選) was used as a model for writing Daechaekmun(對策文), and this provided a basis for content and format.

본고는 원나라 과거수험서인 『삼장문선』이 조선에서 간행된 양상을 검토하고, 이 책이 국가적 차원에서 간행된 목적과 어떤 의의가 있는지에 대해 고찰하였다. 그 결과 두 가지 측면에서 『삼장문선』의 간행 목적과 의의가 있음을 확인하였다. 첫 번째, 국가적 차원에서 사상적 순정함을 추구하기 위해 편찬된 책으로서의 의의를 지닌다. 조선 초기에는 주자학을 정치이념으로 삼아 중국으로부터 많은 주자학 관련 서적들을 수입하였다. 『삼장문선』은 이 중 하나로, 특히 조선의 과거제도와 관련이 있다. 조선 초기에는 왕권강화를 위한 제도적 기반으로 과거제도를 실시하였다. 왕권강화를 위해서는 당시 國是로 설정된 주자학을 보급해야했는데, 과거제도는 이를 이룰 수 있는 좋은 수단이었다. 특히 원대 제도를 본뜬 고려의 과거제도를 수용한 조선에서는 『삼장문선』이 과거수험서의 모범으로 제시하기에 적합했다. 아울러 그 내용 또한 주자학적 세계관에 의거하여 작성된 답안지들이었기에 당시 조선이 지향했던 사상적 측면과도 부합한 것이다. 두 번째, 조선 전기 모범답안이 없던 상황 속에서 대책문 형식을 확고하기 위한 목적으로 간행된 책으로서의 의의를 지닌다. 국가가 건립된 지 얼마 지나지 않은 시점에서 모범으로 삼을만한 과문의 답안이 쌓이지 않았기 때문에 국가적 차원에서 과문작성에 대한 일종의 지침서를 제시해 줄 필요가 있었다. 특히 대책문 작성에 있어서는 그 해결책으로 『삼장문선』을 택하였고, 이는 내용과 형식의 기준을 마련해 준 계기가 되었다.
