- The aim of this paper is to investigate problems related to quotation of Korean discourses in Russian news articles from the perspective of translation. Assuming that the translation process is inevitably necessary for quoting different cultures, this study analyses the direct quotation of speeches of President Park Geun Hye in Russian mass media. Some former studies on this issue were reviewed, and three speeches by the Korean President as source texts and 87 Russian articles containing direct quotations on presidential discourses as target texts were analyzed, focusing on their units, types and contents. Finally, the reasons for transformation of sources texts in target news articles were examined.
