This paper is to study how the image of Sweden and that of the author was explored through the exhibition of one of the world’s most famous Swedish children book author, Astrid Lindgren. The aim of this study is to find out the realistic issues and to suggest the solutions of the exhibitions for the children by studying the actual exhibition and its course of development that was opened on March 23, 2015 at the National Library of the Children and the Youth on the visit of Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria, hosted by National Library of the Children and the Youth and the Swedish Embassy in Seoul, Korea. When it comes to discourse of image is more than just visual experience for the human-beings living in the 21st century. The meaning of emotional experience acquired in a space has more substantial translation of the selves and the special environment is essential in the recognition of the best value for the existence of a human being. In this sense, the special values can lead to a more meaningful life and add more value on the meaning of time. The emotional interactions are pivotal in the library exhibitions. Especially the exhibitions for children might have a big influence to the audience, the children. It is quite obvious that what they see and feel has direct and indirect influence their development. For this reason, the exhibition designer seeks to explore the opportunities for diverse translations beyond the intention to deliver and diffuse information. This study analyses how Lindgren’s world has been realized through the course of conceptualization of Sweden where the author came from and finally how a facilitated communication was sought with the audiences. Moreover, the introduction of Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, established by the Swedish government to commemorate and to celebrate the author’s contributions to raise interests on the children literature, who passed away in 2003, then 94 years old is also dealt in the paper.

본 논문은 스웨덴의 아동문학작가 아스트리드 린드그렌의 작가 전시회를 통해 스웨덴 및 작가의 이미지가 어떻게 공간적으로 활용되었는지를 연구한다. 본 논문의 궁극적인 목표는 지난 3월 23일 스웨덴의 빅토리아 왕세녀의 국빈 방문에 맞춰 국립어린이·청소년도서관과 주한스웨덴대사관이 주최하여, 국립어린이·청소년도서관 전시실에서 오픈한 실제 개발사례를 연구함으로써, 어린이도서관의 전시 기획물이 공간 설치되는 과정을 통하여 보다 현실적인 문제점과 대안을 제시하는데 있다. 21세기 현대인에게 있어 이미지적 담론은 단순히 시각적으로 보는 것과 보이는 것만이 아니다. 최근 들어 공간 속에서 느껴지는 감성적 의미가 더욱 더 커지고 있고, 공간의 환경은 인간을 최상의 존재 가치로 드러나게 한다. 이러한 가치는 인간의 삶을 더욱 풍요롭게 할 수 있으며, 시간의 존재를 더욱 의미 있게 한다. 도서관 전시에서는 관람객의 정서적 상호작용이 매우 중요하다. 특히 어린이를 대상으로 하는 전시는 그들에게 미치는 영향이 매우 크다. 사고가 비교적 덜 발달된 그들에게 보여주는 것과 느끼게 하는 것은 분명히 그들의 성장발달에 직·간접적으로 중요한 작용을 한다. 이러한 이유로 전시디자이너는 단순히 정보를 전달만 하려는 의도에서 벗어나 다양한 해석의 가능성을 찾고자 한다. 본 연구는 전시작가의 삶이 녹아있는 스웨덴의 이미지가 콘셉트화 되는 과정을 통하여 어떻게 린드그렌의 작품세계가 구현되었으며, 최종적으로 관람객들과 원활한 소통을 이루고자 했는지 분석한다. 또한 2002년 94세의 나이로 세상을 떠난 작가를 추모하고, 전 세계인들의 아동문학에 대한 관심을 높이기 위해 힘썼던 그녀의 노력을 기리기 위해 스웨덴 정부가 2002년 제정한 아스트리드 린드그렌 추모문학상(Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award)을 소개하는 과정도 제시하고자 한다.
