In this study, I look at the changes in the map of East Asia in the ancient era supplementary history textbooks in high-school focused on maps related with the Gojoseon and Four Commanderies of Han which were written from the Era of Teaching Guidelines to the revised education course in 2011. In addition, it also covers the way of reflection for results of the studies in the academic community to the supplementary history textbooks in each education course. The changes in maps of the Gojoseon and Four Commanderies of Han on supplementary history textbooks are divided by three stages. In the first stage, the outcomes of early study from the academia of South Korea were reflected in supplementary history textbooks from the Era of Teaching Guidelines to the second education course. From the third to the fourth education course which is the second stage, the various theories from the academia of North Korea during the middle of 1980's and from studies using archeological materials in the ancient era as well as literature materials. On the supplementary history textbooks published from the fifth education course to the revised education course in 2011 as the third stage, the theory, hub movement of the Gojoseon, and Naklang Commandery which was located with Pyongyang as the center among the Four Commanderies of Han were reflected on the maps. The study of the ancient era's history needs historian's imaginational interpretation and criticism moreover as the limitation of literature materials or archeological materials remained and large time lag from the present. This imaginational interpretation and criticism is accordance with the purpose of history education. Historical thinking-skills will be developed in the course of thinking and studying as historian-like with various historical materials. Supplementary history textbook is used for increase the student's understanding using graphs, maps and pictures. The direction of writing for supplementary history textbook may be different with that of history textbook. The direction of writing for the next supplementary textbook has to be changed to address the various viewpoint toward the history along with historical basis and to support for the student to set a own theory through the self-study. This is the proper position for the supplementary history textbook.

본 연구에서는 교수요목기부터 2011 개정 교육과정까지 집필된 고등학교 역사부도에 나타난 상고시대 동아시아 관련 지도 변천 내용을 ‘고조선과 한사군 관련 지도’로 한정하여 살펴보고, 학계의 연구 성과가 교육과정별로 출판된 역사부도에 어떻게 반영되었는지 살펴보았다. 역사부도의 고조선 및 한사군 관련 지도의 변화는 3단계로 나타났다. 교수요목기 ~ 2차 교육과정식의 역사부도는 해방 이후 남한학계에서 문헌을 중심으로 연구했던 초기 연구 성과가 반영되어 있었으며, 3차‧4차교육과정 시기의 역사부도는 1980년 중반 북한학계의 학설이 유입되고상고사 연구에 문헌자료 이외에 고고학 자료를 활용하여 연구되면서 다양한 학설이 반영되어 있었다. 5차 교육과정 ~ 2011 개정 교육과정 시기에 출판된 역사부도는 현재 상고사학계에서 거의 통설로 인정되고 있는고조선 중심지 이동설과 한사군 중 평양을 중심으로 한 낙랑군의 위치를반영하고 있었다. 상고사관련 역사 연구는 남겨진 문헌 자료와 고고학 자료, 현재와 시간상으로 멀리 떨어져 있는 점 등으로 연구에 있어 역사가의 상상력이더욱 필요한 분야이다. 이는 역사교육의 목적과 부합되는 부분이다. 단순한 역사적 지식의 전달이 아니라 여러 사료들을 통해 역사가처럼 생각하고 탐구해 내는 과정에서 역사적 사고력이 함양될 수 있다. 역사부도는 역사교과서의 서술만으로 부족한 부분을 도표, 지도, 사진등으로 제시하여 학생들의 이해를 돕기 위해 만들어진 보조용 교과서이다. 앞으로 제작될 역사부도의 집필 방향은 현재 역사교과서의 집필 방향과 동일하게 제시되어 있는 제도에서 벗어나야 한다. 새로운 역사부도의 집필 방향은 역사를 바라보는 학계의 다양한 시각을 근거와 함께 제시해 주고, 학생들이 스스로 탐구하는 과정을 통해 하나의 학설을 설정해 볼 수 있도록 바뀌어야 할 것이다. 이것이 역사부도가 가지는 역사교과서의 보조 교과용 도서로서의 본연의 위치일 것이다.
