This article presents the direction and necessity of multicultural art education. I tried to solve the problem of 'communication' with the children of multicultural families by regarding 'art' as an art convergence education called 'a dramatic play'. Before going into a main subject, I looked into what a multicultural society is, and also examined art education as well as art convergence education. I also gave careful consideration to the necessity of the art convergence education in a multicultural society and the concrete ways to practice it. Finally, I discussed the direction of art convergence education of multicultural society in the future and the problems to be preceded. I hope that the 'a dramatic play', the art convergence educational method that is being utilized in the education field will be able to contribute to a multicultural society a little.

본고는 다문화예술교육의 방향과 그 필요성을 제시한 글이다. ‘예술'을 ‘연극놀 이'라는 예술융합교육으로 보고 다문화가정의 자녀와의 ‘소통'의 문제를 해결해 보고자 하였다. 본론에 들어가기 전에 먼저 다문화사회가 무엇인지에 대해 알아 보았고, 예술융합교육과 더불어 예술교육에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 그리고 다문화 사회에서의 예술융합교육의 필요성과 그것을 실천하기 위한 구체적인 방법까지 도 고찰해보았다. 그리고 마지막으로 다문화사회예술융합교육이 앞으로 나아가 야 할 방향과 선행되어야 할 문제에 대해서도 다루어 보았다. 그리고 교육 현장 에서 활용하고 있는 ‘연극놀이’ 예술융합교육 방안이 다문화사회에 조금이나마 도움이 되기를 바란다.
