- Descriptive Video Service is the one that gives audio explanations when watching a video by converting visual components hard for the visually impaired to recognize into language. The narrator of this service can be the being that surfaces explicitly, who used to be hidden in the video. The very purpose of Descriptive Video Service is to deliver different meaning and information implicit in the visual images to the visually impaired. For this the most significant principle in the descriptive video service is to maintain objectivity and impartiality. However, understanding a movie goes beyond a level of simply comprehending information of the video and makes an issue of enjoying and appreciating it. To present the visually impaired the high standard enjoyment of a movie they began to increase the descriptive video service with a writer’s view. In addition, this kind of descriptive video service guarantee literary value and artistic value and brings about improvement in quality. Descriptive Video Service is a creative process that determines the success or failure depending on the writer’s ability of integral interpretation and literary competency. Therefore, the constant study on Descriptive Video Service is considered to expand the base of the study on storytelling and contribute to the development of education of writing and creative writing at the same time. It is also expected to be a great educational media for understanding and improving awareness of the disabled.

- 화면해설은 영상물을 볼 때 시각 장애인이 인지하기 어려운 영상요소들 을 언어로 전환하여 음성으로 설명해주는 서비스다. 화면해설의 내레이터는 영상 속에 숨어 있던 서술자가 명징하게 표면화된 존재라고 할 수 있다. 화면해설의 가장 큰 목적은 영상 이미지에 내포되어 있는 다양한 정보와 의미를 시각 장애인에게 정확하게 전달하는 데 있었다. 이를 위해 화면해설 의 가장 중요한 원칙은 객관성과 중립성을 유지하는 것이었다. 그러나 영화를 이해한다는 것은 단순히 영상이 담고 있는 정보를 이해하는 수준을 넘어 서 그것을 감상하고 향유하는 능력을 문제 삼는 것이다. 시각 장애인의 수 준 높은 영화 향유를 위해 작가의 주관성이 개입된 화면해설이 늘어나기 시작했다. 또한 이러한 화면해설은 문학성과 예술성을 담보하며 질적 발전을 가져온다. 화면해설은 작가의 통합적 해석력과 문학적 역량에 의해 성패가 좌우되는 창조적 과정이다. 따라서 화면해설의 지속적인 연구는 스토리텔링 연구 의 저변을 확대시키는 동시에 글쓰기 교육과 문예 창작 교육 발전에 기여할 수 있으리라 본다. 또한 장애인 이해 및 인식 개선을 위한 훌륭한 교육 매체가 될 것으로 기대된다.

- 한국문예창작학회(The Society of Korean Literary Creative Writing)는 한국 문학의 새 지평을 열기 위해 문예창작 이론과 문예교육 이론을 연구 계발하여 문 예창작의 새로운 방향을 제시하고자 조직한 학술단체입니다. 전국 대학과 대학원 문예창작 관련학과의 전·현직 전임교수·겸임(초빙)교수· 강 사·대학원 재학 이상자 및 문예창작인들이 회원으로 활동하고 있습니다. 학회의 목적에 적극적으로 동의하는 문학 관련 단체나 문학창작 동호인도 준회원으로 참 여하고 있습니다. 연 2회 학회지를 발간해 학문적 기반을 닦고 있으며, 정기적으로 학술 세미나 와 해외 문학 심포지엄 등 학술 발표회를 개최하여 학문적 교류와 토론의 장을 넓히고 있습니다. 한편으로, 문예창작 캠프·문학기행 등의 창작교육 활동과 창작 학습 행사를 수 시로 진행하면서, 창작·창작이론·창작교육에 관한 활동의 범위를 넓히고 있습니다. 별도로, 문예창작 교육을 받은 문예창작학도들의 진로 개발을 위해 '문예교육지도 교사 자격 시험'도 운영하고 있습니다. The Society of Korean Literary Creative Writing is a pure academic association for the literary cretive writing, and was organized on November 11, 2001 for the purpose of presenting the new direction of literary creative writing by studying all the methods to activate and develop the theories of literary creative writing and its education. Our society is composed of professors or ex-professors, some invited professor, lecturers, graduate students of the dept. of literary creative writing as regular members, and the persons interested in our program as associative members. Our society holds an annual academic meeting-- literary symposium, literary creative writing seminar-- and publishes the journal of our society and our members' anthology of literary works. Added to these, our society has already started a new project to open the way for our literary juniors by providing them with a certificate as a leader and holding a forum for literary creative writing.
