- This paper focused on analyzing modern subject in Ten Thousand Lives of Ko-Un. Ten Thousand Lives was comprised of 4001 statements of 5600 people from ancient times to present-day, from mythical to historical, and from governing class to subject people. A distinguishing mark of Ko-Un’s poem, a national consciousness was related with a variety of problems and responses based on historical awareness. A description of formation of modern subject was an important point which Ten Thousand Lives provided a grand story and an epic poem. Ten Thousand Lives, a collection of serial poems featuring ‘a subjectivization of subject’, was consistent with a process of formation of modern subject in history. It was significant that the serial poems were not only limited to Korean modernization but also expanded to universal emotions of global citizens. Specifically, the socially weak, such as ‘a child’, ‘a woman’, and ‘a servant,’ appeared as poetic speaker in poems to seek ‘a recognition on reality’ of modern subject. ‘A practical awareness’ of modern subject reflected the essence of an era, a symbol of smaller condemned and suppressed community in a larger community, ‘a society’. A awareness of an era developed to a practical awareness. A formation of modern subject, described in Ten Thousand Lives, had differentiated and had characteristic features of ‘ours’ experiencing the Korean Empire and Japanese Colical Period. Ko-Un identified a premodern society as an important point to form modern subject.

- 이 논문은 고은의 『만인보』에 형상화된 근대적 주체 형성의 실천적 인식 과 그 시대적 인식을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 『만인보』는 총 작품 수 4001 편, 등장인물 5600여 명으로 신화 속 인물에서부터 고대와 중세, 근·현대 의 역사 속 인물에 이르기까지 다양한 인간군상을 서사적으로 형상화하고 있다. 특히, 우리 민족의 역사를 토대로 지배·피지배 계층의 구성원을 아우르는 인간군상의 주체화라는 점이 특징이다. 이러한 역사의식을 토대로 한 인간 사회의 다양한 문제와 대응방식이 고 은 시의 저변에 흐르는 민족·민중의식과 결부되어 근대적 주체의 형성 과정이 잘 나타나 있다. 여기서 주목할 것은 『만인보』가 역사를 기반으로 재구 성된 대서사적 지평을 개진하고 있는 점을 감안할 때, 정사(正史)와 야사(野 史)의 상호텍스트성이 미학적 실천으로 이어진다는 점이다. 이것은 시에 형 상화된 근대적 주체(실학자에서부터 기생까지) 형성의 지난한 과정과 그 시대적 인식이 독자와의 공감대를 형성하고 주제를 응집하는 원동력으로 작용했기 때문에 가능하다. 이러한 점이 『만인보』가 대서사시, 인물서술시로 접근할 수 있는 중요한 요소로 분석된다.

- 한국문예창작학회(The Society of Korean Literary Creative Writing)는 한국 문학의 새 지평을 열기 위해 문예창작 이론과 문예교육 이론을 연구 계발하여 문 예창작의 새로운 방향을 제시하고자 조직한 학술단체입니다. 전국 대학과 대학원 문예창작 관련학과의 전·현직 전임교수·겸임(초빙)교수· 강 사·대학원 재학 이상자 및 문예창작인들이 회원으로 활동하고 있습니다. 학회의 목적에 적극적으로 동의하는 문학 관련 단체나 문학창작 동호인도 준회원으로 참 여하고 있습니다. 연 2회 학회지를 발간해 학문적 기반을 닦고 있으며, 정기적으로 학술 세미나 와 해외 문학 심포지엄 등 학술 발표회를 개최하여 학문적 교류와 토론의 장을 넓히고 있습니다. 한편으로, 문예창작 캠프·문학기행 등의 창작교육 활동과 창작 학습 행사를 수 시로 진행하면서, 창작·창작이론·창작교육에 관한 활동의 범위를 넓히고 있습니다. 별도로, 문예창작 교육을 받은 문예창작학도들의 진로 개발을 위해 '문예교육지도 교사 자격 시험'도 운영하고 있습니다. The Society of Korean Literary Creative Writing is a pure academic association for the literary cretive writing, and was organized on November 11, 2001 for the purpose of presenting the new direction of literary creative writing by studying all the methods to activate and develop the theories of literary creative writing and its education. Our society is composed of professors or ex-professors, some invited professor, lecturers, graduate students of the dept. of literary creative writing as regular members, and the persons interested in our program as associative members. Our society holds an annual academic meeting-- literary symposium, literary creative writing seminar-- and publishes the journal of our society and our members' anthology of literary works. Added to these, our society has already started a new project to open the way for our literary juniors by providing them with a certificate as a leader and holding a forum for literary creative writing.
