The purpose of the study is to investigate the mediating effect of major satisfaction, professor-student interaction on the relationship between intrinsic motivation of major selection and school life adjustment. For the study, 346 university students in kimhae were selected to conduct a survey from Oct. 26th 2015 to Nov. 6th, then the correlation analysis was performed to figure out correlation among the factors . According to the procedures Baron and Kenny suggested in 1986, hierarchical multiple regression is employed to measure the mediating effect of major satisfaction, professor-student interaction on the relationship between intrinsic motivation and school life adjustment. The conclusions from results and discussions are as follows. First, there is a positive relationship among intrinsic motivation of major selection, major satisfaction, professor-student interaction and school life adjustment Second, major satisfaction exerts a partial mediating effect on the relationship between intrinsic motivation of major selection and school life adjustment. Third, professor-student interaction excercise a partial mediating effect on the relationship between intrinsic motivation of major selection and school life adjustment Therefore, it is important to know interactive role of major satisfaction and professor-student interaction to improve school life adjustment and the source of motivation to successfully adapt school life.

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 내재적 전공선택동기와 대학생활적응의 관계에서 전공만족도와 교수-학생 상호작용이 매개하는가를 알아보는데 있다. 이를 위해 김해시 소재 2개의 대학교 대학생 346명을 대상으로 2015년 10월 26일부터 11월 6일까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 자료분석은 변수들 간의 상관관계를 알아보기 위하여 상관분석을 실시하였으며, 다음으로는 내재적 전공선택동기가 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향에서 전공만족도와 교수-학생 상호작용의 매개효과를 알아보기 위해 Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제안한 매개효과 분석단계에 따라 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내재적 전공선택 동기, 전공만족도, 교수-학생 상호작용, 대학생활적응 간에 정적 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 내재적 전공선택동기와 대학생활적응의 관계에서 전공만족도는 부분매개효과가 있었다. 셋째, 내재적 전공선택동기와 대학생활적응의 관계에서 교수-학생 상호작용은 부분매개효과가 있었다. 따라서 대학생의 성공적인 대학생활적응을 위해서 전공을 선택하는 동기의 소재가 중요하며, 대학생활적응을 향상시키기 위해 전공만족도와 교수-학생 상호작용의 역할이 중요함을 시사한다.
